Abstract: A process and apparatus for automatically changing drums which are to receive wicks which are delivered by textile machines. The apparatus includes a translationally movable table. A means for gripping and pulling a wick in a second opposite direction and a means for gripping and severing a pulled wick are provided. At least a portion of both of these means are carried on the table. Positioned thusly, when the table moves in a first direction, that is opposite to the second direction. The table passes under a feeding head that distributes the wick, such that the wick is received on the table and on both of these means. In second position, the one means grips the wick and pulls it in the second opposite direction. Simultaneously, the other means grips and severs the pulled wick. The one means then advances and guides the wick into a drum being filled by the feeding head. Means is also provided for moving the drums in the first direction concomitantly with the movement of the table.

Abstract: An apparatus for replacing full bobbins on spindles of a continuous spinning machine by empty tubes situated on fixed pegs near the spindles, and arranged in a plurality of consecutive spinning positions in the spinning machine, has a gripping mechanism for simultaneously removing the full bobbins and the empty tubes of two consecutive spinning positions from the spindles and pegs respectively, and for simultaneously replacing the full bobbins and empty tubes on the pegs and spindles, respectively, of the two consecutive spinning positions. The gripping mechanism is of the quadruple mechanism type having four separate grippers, respectively for engaging the full bobbin of one spinning position; for engaging the empty tubes of the one spinning position; for engaging the full bobbin of the other spinning position, and for engaging the empty tube of the other spinning position.

Abstract: The invention relates to an open-end spinning device comprising an opening-up member (2) whereby the fibers, which are supplied in the form of a continuous sliver, are disintegrated and then introduced into a spinning turbine rotating at high speed, the yarn extracted from the turbine being discharged through an outlet tube; a funnel-shaped member is secured to the disintegrator (2) and thus rotates at the same speed. The funnel comprises a hollow element having a top securing flange which extends into the spinning chamber and which, along its central axis, has a tubular head terminating near the outlet tube.
