  • Patent number: 4161993
Abstract: The core of a bowden cable controlling an automobile choke or the like is connected to the rear end of a rod longitudinally displaceable in a guide mounted in the automobile dashboard with the front end of the rod carrying a control knob that normally projects from the dashboard. The rod normally is moved forwardly to operate the choke from an intermediate position with its rear end bearing on inwardly projecting portions of laterally elastically deflectable fingers formed integrally with the guide. If the control knob is forcibly depressed the rear end will deflect the portions and fingers laterally and allow the control knob to move against the dashboard out of harm's way.

  • Patent number: 4151757
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for controlling the position of a member jointed to a support such as an automotive-vehicle external rearview mirror member movable about two axes substantially perpendicular to one another defined in the plane of the mirror member by, on the one hand, a common main rotary joint and, on the other hand, by two secondary rotary joints, respectively. Two locking means each associated with an axis of rotation are selectively unlockable to ensure the rotation of said mirror member about either axis of rotation under the single control of an electro-magnet.

  • Patent number: 4028573
Abstract: The rotor core of an armature or coil-carrying rotary member of a generator comprises a stack of notched magnetically permeable plates held between a pair of flanges, one rigid with the shaft of the machine and the other held elastically thereon. Each of the flanges is provided with an annular array of angularly equispaced hollow lugs which alternate in length between long and short and extend into the notches of the stacked plates. The long lugs or bosses of one flange lie opposite the short bosses of another and the aligned bosses in the notches of the stack receive the conductors of the rotor windings.
