  • Patent number: 4325478
Abstract: A transport belt for a conveyor or bucket conveyor especially for transporting products whose temperature exceeds 200.degree. C. is provided wherein a flexible belt carries on its outer face a metal carrier means adapted to receive or pick up the hot products which are to be transported, said metal carrier means being secured to said belt and the metal carrier means being at least partially thermally insulated from the belt by one or more cushions of air formed by one or more pockets of heat insulating air space between the bottom of the metal carrier means intermediate its ends and the outer face of the belt, said pockets being defined by a shaped member which contacts said belt at one or more intervals with a line or point contact providing one or more zones of minimum contact between said metal carrier means and said belt whereby heat transfer between said metal carrier means and said belt is minimized.

  • Patent number: 4269758
Abstract: The invention has for its object a method for the hardening of a composit particularly intended for making foundry cores and moulds including the known steps of gasifying this composition by SO.sub.2 and the introduction into the composition of an agent for oxidizing SO.sub.2 characterized in that the SO.sub.2 is insufflated diluted with another gas of lower diffusibility.

  • Patent number: 4221258
Abstract: Apparatus useful in foundry moulding or casting embodying a turret having a lurality of arms rotatably mounted on and extending radially from a hub or drum rotatable about a vertical axis. The arms comprise a base, an inclined intermediate portion and an end portion parallel with the base. A fixed rack is disposed horizontally on the turret frame and extends along the arc of a circle in part of the zone swept by the arms during rotation of the hub. Each of the arms carries a pinion, whose teeth mesh with the teeth of the rack to induce rotation of each arm by 180.degree. to invert the mould or die carried on the end of the arm.

  • Patent number: 4174906
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the continuous preparation of a molding mater comprising a granular and/or pulverulent charge agglomerated by a binder-hardener system are disclosed. An intimate and homogeneous pre-mix is formed by malaxation of the charge and only one of the binder-hardener system components, to the mixture is then added the second binder-hardener component into a thin film malaxation apparatus, the mixture is malaxated as a thin film for a few seconds and then is discharged at its point of end use.

  • Patent number: 4088624
Abstract: A composition of self-hardening molding material and the hardening process re provided for making a solid or a hollow body wherein self-hardening molding material comprising at least one inert charge, either in granule and/or in powder form is intimately mixed with at least one organic resin serving as binding agent, and at least with one agent for the hardening of the binder, characterized by the fact that it includes fluoride (F.sup.-) ions.

  • Patent number: 4056259
Abstract: Apparatus useful for the malaxation of a charge such as foundry sand, a ractory or abrasive particulate-like solid, powdered marble, gravel or like building materials embodying two mixing zones to first form a pre-mix of the charge and a constituent of a binder-hardener system and then form an intimate and homogeneous mixture of the pre-mix and the other constituent of the system within a few seconds followed by immediate evacuation or emptying of the resultant mixture. At least the second mixing zone is a mixing vessel with a cylindrical or conically tapered inner wall inside of which is rotated a drive shaft with radial arms, each bearing a hammer on its outer end, the hammers orbiting in the vessel with a clearance of only a few millimeters with the inner wall to attain thin film malaxation.

  • Patent number: 4004942
Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for mechanically and pneumatically cning and stripping particulate granular and/or pulverulent solid materials which are particularly applicable to the regeneration of old foundry sand agglomerated by a binder. The particulate materials are introduced into and projected by a current of gas against the interior sides of a rotating drum where the materials are repeatedly subjected to a shock treatment.
