  • Patent number: 4637692
Abstract: An observation apparatus enabling alternative sighting of two objects (11, 21) placed in two intersection planes (1, 2). The apparatus comprises, in front of its objective lens (42), a reflector (6) comprising a single flat reflecting surface capable of pivoting around the optical axis (41) of the objective, this axis being positioned substantially in the bisector plane (5) or a plane parallel to the bisector plane of the dihedron formed by the two object planes (1, 2) while forming a specified angle with a ridge (3) of the dihedron. The apparatus applies particularly to an audiovisual device for sighting, using a camera, a person or a document placed before him or her so as to be readable in a normal fashion.

  • Patent number: 4213700
Abstract: A fire control device for sighting a gun by introducing, between the axis of the gun and the direction of the target, an angular shift based on the trajectory of the ammunition, the device comprises a sighting telescope in which an image of fire crosswires defining a line of collimation are visible and means for moving the fire crosswires in dependance on a signal from a rangefinder of the laser type which includes a first collimator comprising an objective and crosswires for sighting the rangefinder and an image of which can be seen in the telescope, and a second collimator for shifting the line of collimation which comprises an objective and the fire crosswires which are placed at the focal point of the objective, the second collimator being associated with an optical reflecting element for reflecting the image of the fire crosswires into the telescope and the two collimators are arranged so that the image of the sighting crosswires passes through the optical reflecting element and is reflected by the fire

  • Patent number: 4195412
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the position of a part, e.g. a feeler or work tool, along two orthogonal directions, the part being slideable in a first slide extending in one direction and mounted on a carriage movable along a second slide extending in the other direction and mounted on a support. The apparatus comprises a device for locating the position of the carriage on the second slide and the movable part on the first slide, a device for measuring the error in straightness of said second slide and a device for measuring the error in orthogonality of the first slide, each device comprising a laser generator for producing a laser beam parallel to the respective direction and a photoelectric detector in the path of the respective beam and subject to the respective error to be measured.

  • Patent number: 4182570
Abstract: A laser generator (1,2,3) is arranged to generate successive pairs of pulses. Two light receivers (10,11) in the vicinity of the laser generator receive echos of the pulses as reflected from a target and a processing circuit (15) calculates the component of wind speed blowing across the laser axis between the laser generator and the target. The device can be combined with laser ranging means and used for artillery control.

  • Patent number: 4084885
Abstract: An objective for a microscope has a meniscus lens of positive power at one nd of the objective. A lens of negative power is located at the other extremity of the objective. Three intermediate doublets of positive power are located between the first two lenses each formed of a convergent lens cemented to a divergent lens. The meniscus lens situated at the front has focal length between 1.5f and 2.5f. The lens of negative power is a doublet formed of a convergent lens and a divergent lens with a focal length between -8f and -15f. The first doublet located close to the lens of negative power has a focal length between 14f and 18f. The second doublet situated immediately before the first doublet has a focal length between 6f and 8f. The third doublet located between the second doublet and the meniscus lens at the front end of the objective has a focal length between 3f and 4f.
