Abstract: The system for handling a container comprises a vehicle on which the container may bear in the transporting position and which comprises at least one jack for raising or lowering the container by pivoting it about an axis of pivotal connection between the container and the vehicle, and a fixed installation for receiving the container in the position of use, which comprises a device for locking the vehicle, after the vehicle has moved rearwardly. The position of use of the container is an inclined position in which the lower end part of the container is set in position in a frame of the fixed installation. The axis of the pivotal connection between the container and the vehicle is embodied by two articulations, each of which articulations comprises a male element having a surface of revolution about a horizontal axis and connected to the container and a female element connected to the vehicle and comprising a conjugate surface of revolution to which surface of revolution there are connected divergent surfaces.

Abstract: A door for opening and closing the discharge opening of a hopper is carried y a support suspended from an oblique lateral wall of the hopper by two links pivoted to the support at one end and pivoted to the support at the other end of the links. An actuating and locking mechanism for the door is connected to the support. The support has a generally triangular shape and the two pivotal connections between the links and the support are in the vicinity of two of the corners of the triangle. The door is located in the vicinity of the third corner of the triangle.

Abstract: A system for transferring data between persons, for example in lieu of cash transactions, requires that each person to or from whom data is to be transferred carries a portable electronic device including a memory. Data transfer means in the form of data recording devices are provided at fixed locations which cooperate with the portable electronic devices to transfer data into or out of the portable electronic devices. Preferably both functions may be effected at each location. Data taken from a portable electronic device may be recorded in another portable electronic device for transfer elsewhere. The portable electronic devices may be in the form of flat cards in which logic microstructures are encapsulated.

Abstract: Data, for example, data relating to a bank account, is carried on the person in the form of a small portable means such as a flat card containing encapsulated logic microstructures. The circuitry includes a memory and its control circuits, with inhibitor means preventing access to predetermined sections of the memory. The portable means cooperates with data-transfer means provided at fixed locations. Credit entries in the card are summed and the debit entries are summed and subtracted from the credit entries. Any credit balance may be used to effect a purchase or to obtain an issue of cash money. Coupling of the card and data-transfer means is effected optically by light-emitting diodes cooperating with photovoltaic piles, or by direct electrical contact. Prohibited memory sections carry a code actuating a lock-out latch system. Alternatively a predetermined collection of addresses in the memory is prohibited, setting up one of these addresses actuates the lock-out.
