Abstract: A reaction mass for use in the preparation of chlorine and ammonia by contact with ammonium chloride, in which the reaction mass contains iron oxide which is capable of chemically combining with chlorine in the reaction with ammonium chloride and an alkali metal chloride, with the ratio of iron oxide and alkali metal chloride being such that the ratio of the chlorine chemically combined with the iron to the chlorine chemically combined with the alkali metal is less than 1.
Abstract: Bodies formed of porous, divided or colloidal inorganic material containing surface hydroxyl groups which are modified by grafting to the surface an organic group to establish an --O--Si bond, wherein the organic group has an average molecular weight greater than 150 and contains at least one hydrophilic functional group. The bodies of this invention are well suited for use in chromatography.

Abstract: An expansible mold for the fabrication of plaster parts having reliefs in the side walls comprising at least two walls and non-compressible deformable parts between two parallel side edges of the walls in which, under pressure, the deformable parts acquire the profile to be imparted to the molded plaster part, and which retract from the molded plaster part upon release of pressure to enable removal of the molded part without loss of a tight sealing relation with the mold.
