Abstract: [Object] To improve analysis precision of communication characteristic, while minimizing the calculation amount, to determine a local dead area, thereby providing useful information for cell site design. [Solving Means] There are included the steps of: determining, on the basis of the maximum population of an area to be analyzed, an area attribute of big city, local city or rural area (S2); accepting the designation of a target building out of buildings in the area to be analyzed; finding that one or those ones of analyzing methods including quota analysis, topology analysis and geographic feature analysis which are associated with the determined area attribute, and executing a local analysis of the communication characteristic of the target building (S3-S5); and correcting, on the basis of the analysis result, the referential estimated value (A-value) of the area to be analyzed, and outputting the corrected value as a communication characteristic value of the target building (S6).

Abstract: A personal information management system is characterized in describing a telephone number while reading out a coordinate position on an application sheet on which a coded coordinate position on the sheet is printed, transmitting by a mobile phone a handwriting image read out by a digital pen to a database managing server, analyzing by the database managing server image data received by a wireless communication terminal device, extracting the telephone number allocated to the wireless communication terminal device, and, in accordance with the extracted telephone number, detecting personal information associated with the telephone number from a telephone number/address associating type database. With this, in letter mailing service, etc., an opportunity for the exposure of personal information is shortened, so that the possibility of the leakage of personal information is reduced, repetitive descriptions of the same content are avoided, and troublesome work can be eased.

Abstract: A portable communication table comprising a user interface for inputting an operating signal for character input, a dictionary database for storing a conversion dictionary for associating an input character with a converted character, an FED processing section for executing a character conversion program to acquire the operating signal inputted through the interface as an input character, reference the conversion dictionary, and the operation setting data of the character conversion program and controlling the operation of the character conversion program, and a communication interface for transferring the conversion dictionary, the character conversion program and operation setting data to the outside of the communication terminal. The may allow a communication terminal to be replaced with a new model that includes the character input environment of the old model.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and communication method capable of increasing the communication continuity and maintaining the communication quality of real-time communications are provided. The communication method according to the present invention is a method of communicating between a first mobile terminal 1a and a second mobile terminal 1b capable of wireless communication in a plurality of communication networks. First, information required to establish a communication session for performing communications is exchanged via the call control device 3 between the first mobile terminal 1a and the second mobile terminal 1b. Thereafter, a session to establish a communication session is established on the basis of the required information that has been exchanged. Communications are executed between the first mobile terminal 1a and the first mobile terminal 1b by means of the established communication session.

[Means for Solving Problems] A mobile terminal 3a comprises an application executing section 39 for executing a data transmitting/receiving application, a quality monitoring section 38 for detecting the quality of communication such as of a wireless LAN 4, an address control section 31 for making it enable to provide either or both of a static address and a care-of address to the application as a receiving address for the data transmission/reception depending on the type of the application being executed by the application executing section 39 and the result of the detection t by the quality monitoring section 38, and a network selection switching section 33 for selecting a communication route via a home agent when the fixed address is selected as the receiving address and for selecting a communication route not via the home agent when the care-of address is selected.

Abstract: There are provided an IP telephone system and method for establishing a connection to the IP network 4 via a public line network and performing talking by transmitting/receiving IP packet data into which audio data has been converted. In a location server 3 arranged on a PSTN 5 or the IP network 4, a public line telephone number and an IP telephone number which are attached to the line connected to a telephone terminal 1a and a terminal identifier identifying the telephone terminal 1a are registered while correlating them to each other. When an IVR 8 is called, the public line telephone number, the IP telephone number of the telephone terminal 1a and/or the terminal identifier is acquired from the telephone terminal 1a and the registration content in the location server 3 is modified via a registrar system 7.

Abstract: When a connection request is sent from a telephone terminal, even if it is difficult to set a communication path to the destination telephone terminal only through the packet network, a circuit switching network is also used in cooperation with the packet network in order to set a communication path therethrough, so that call loss is prevented from occurring. In accordance with the communication path setting system of the present invention, when it is determined that an ADSL modem 22 connected to a VoIP network 1 is not operating, the MGC 62 sets a communication path between a telephone terminal 11 and a telephone terminal 12 through the VoIP network 1, a public switched telephone network 2 and a voice band signal processing unit 230 of the ADSL modem 22.

Abstract: Electronic money is stored in a user card to be used by a user, and the sum of the electronic money stored in the user card is acquired by a shop terminal. In case this sum is smaller than a using sum for the settlement in question, the electronic money corresponding to the using sum is received, and the electronic money received is stored. The shop card is prestored with predetermined authentication information, and the electronic money is received/paid from/to the shop terminal only in case the authentication is completed by that authentication information. Thus, the off-line settlement with the electronic money can be made even under the circumstances such as an automatic vendor or an outdoor shop, when on-line facilities are hard to install.

Abstract: A PC card and a method of controlling the PC card is provided which can be used to add multiple capabilities to an information processing apparatus in cooperation with a conventional card only by the use of a single card slot. The PC card 1 is provided with a multifunctional adapter unit 2 which controls data exchange between the information processing apparatus 20 and the function of the PC card or data exchange between the information processing apparatus 20 and the function of the PHS card, and a PC card function control unit 3 which controls the function of the PC card. The multifunctional adapter unit 2 of the PC card 1 is provided with a communication control unit 2a, an address control unit 2b, a driving system setting unit 2c, and an interrupt request control unit 2d.

Abstract: A communication system in accordance with the present invention is provided with a terminal device and a call connection server. The terminal device comprises a personal computer 70u in which software is installed for performing a call connection process, and a dedicated telephone terminal 60u which is connected to the personal computer 70u and capable of digital encoding voice band signals. The call connection server comprises a SIP server 11 which performs a call connection process with the personal computer 70u and so forth, a database server 12 which stores related information about the users of an IP telephone service, telephone numbers and designation addresses (IP addresses) in association with each other, and a call agent 13 which performs a call connection process on the basis of the information stored in the database server 12.

Abstract: When viewing/listening to a video and an audio via a terminal device 1 having a monitor 7, a broadcast content D1 broadcast via an electric wave is received by a broadcast content reception section 6 which can be detachably attached to the terminal device 1 and a network content D4 distributed by the IP network is acquired. In browser software 14a, the broadcast content D1 is synthesized with the network content D4 and outputted. Thus, without requiring a special cable television broadcast network, it is possible to receive various services by a combination of a television broadcast and Internet information in a terminal device such as an existing computer.

Abstract: An FM multiplex broadcasting system includes a central server for creating or managing data for FM multiplex broadcast and community servers connected to the central server over the Internet. The data for FM multiplex broadcast is transmitted from the central server to the community servers to provide FM multiplex broadcast containing the data for FM multiplex broadcast to specific areas through the community servers. With this, only specific information out of a content broadcasted by FM broadcast under viewers' condition can be reproduced or stored.

Abstract: A set top box 41 having a content acquisition unit 411 for receiving a content or reading out a content accumulated acquires a switching request signal and a skip request signal based on the user operation and switches the channel identifying the content received or read out at the content acquisition unit according to the switching request signal. When switching the channel, the channel is switched in the order of the channel number according to the switching request signal. When the channel number is displayed and a skip request signal is acquired, the channel is switched in the order of the group name based on the attribute information correlated with the content and the channel. Thus, it is possible to realize the zapping operation for selecting a desired content from a plenty of contents by a simple user interface and operation.

Abstract: An MAC address of each of devices under testing is entered. An IP address is assigned to each entered MAC address. The IP addresses and telephone numbers assigned to the devices and a failure test terminal are associated with one another and registered in a system server. Out of telephones connected to the devices, sets of two telephones are determined. For each set, a call is made from a first telephone connected to the device to a second telephone connected to another device. When the communication is established, a call is made from the called second telephone to the first telephone. If the communication is not established, communication with a telephone connected to the failure test terminal is tried. Thereby, adequate test on a large number of devices with simple operation is possible in performing an operation test on a VoIP device.

Thus, by push-type distribution, it is possible to enhance the user willingness to buy and distribute a content without missing the chance to sell the content.

Abstract: When a communication terminal calls a communication terminal, a content server acquires, based on a call signal addressed from the communication terminal to the communication terminal, a call-reception end identifier of the communication terminal. The content server then refers, based on the acquired call-reception end identifier, to table data, then transmits, to the communication terminal, content data associated with the call-reception identifier, and then causes the communication terminal to output and display the transmitted content data during processing of the call. Thereby, a user of the call receiver end causes the terminal device of the call transmitter end to output any content data during processing of the call from the terminal device of the call transmitter end, independently of reception circumstance and usage status at the call receiver end.
