Abstract: A casting brake for slowing rotation of a spool of a fishing reel includes a brake guide and a brake disk positioned in the brake guide and moveable relative to the brake guide between a first position and a second position. The brake disk includes one or more magnets that apply a magnetic brake force on the spool, and one or more brake pads that apply a friction brake force on the spool when the brake disk is in the second position.
Abstract: A method for detection and classification of insects and animals, aiming at pest control affecting crops and the detection of insects and animals through radar. The method includes a comparison between a set of patterns derived from the echo of a centimeter-wave radar signal captured in the field by an operational radar and a characteristic signature of each animal species determined through data processing carried out in a laboratory. This processing involves the generation of a spectrogram from the Doppler signal produced by the movement of the animal species'appendages, which, in the case of insects, consists of wing flapping. For each species, a signature is generated from the spectrogram and the relevant patterns selected among the group consisting of standard deviation, kurtosis, skewness, entropy, and energy of the radar signal echo.

Abstract: A soft chew nutritional supplement for an animal, such as a dog or cat, is provided. The soft chew includes (a) palm oil and/or palm oil constituent, (b) palm kernel oil and/or coconut oil, and (c) at least one other oil. The method of manufacturing the soft chew typically includes partially curing the soft chew at ?79 to 0° C. before packaging the soft chew, and then allowing the soft chew to fully cure while in the packaging at room temperature. To achieve the desired processing and curing of the soft chew, the ratio of the total amount of the components (a) and (b) to the total amount of the (c) other oil ranges from 45:55 to 55:45. In addition, the components (a) and (b) have a Mettler Dropping Point ranging from 36° C. to 40° C. and are present in an amount of 4.5 wt. % to 6.5 wt. %.

Abstract: An apparatus, composition, and method are provided for processing red and black sorghum seed. The process includes mechanically separating the seed into bran and endosperm-rich material, combining the bran with ethanol, filtering the resulting mixture through a resin-based filtration system, and evaporating the ethanol to produce an extraction product. Also disclosed are an apparatus and method for producing a sorghum isolate composition comprising a 3-DA concentrate in which the 3-DA concentration is at least twice that of whole seed, and the lead concentration is below 200 ppb. In certain embodiments, the mercury concentration is below 100 ppb, the cadmium concentration is below 100 ppb, or the arsenic concentration is below 200 ppb. Additional embodiments achieve 3-DA concentrations at least 100 times higher than whole seed, at least 1,000 times higher than whole seed, at least 2,000 milligrams per kilogram, or any combination of these levels.
Abstract: It is disclosed a method of producing a food product for human consumption from undervalued parts of a fish material by using extrusion. The method comprises: providing a fish material containing hard tissues; optionally providing a stabilizing material; optional grinding the fish material with a grinder having a hole size of at most 2 mm to provide a fish mass; subjecting the fish material to a first colloid milling to provide a colloid milled fish mass; subjecting the colloid milled fish mass to an extrusion to provide an extruded fish mass; subjecting the extruded mass to a second colloid milling to provide a colloid milled extruded fish mass as a food product.
Abstract: A method and a kit for wrapping a handroll is disclosed. The kit includes a wrapping made of a flexible product or film and having a pouch portion, a sheet for enclosing the ingredients of the handroll and one or more ingredients of the handroll. In the method, the sheet and ingredients are provided in a wrapping in a circularly wrapped configuration, where a first end of the sheet is held within the pouch portion and the first end of the sheet does not contact the ingredients. The wrapping is unwrapped such that the ingredients are on top of a second end of the sheet. The sheet is then rotated around the ingredients from the second end of the sheet toward the first end of sheet while extracting the first end from the pouch portion until the sheet fully encompasses the and forms the handroll.

The machine also includes a collar having a center aperture and the collar is coupled to the conical insert.
