Abstract: An adhesive application station comprising a device for binding stacked printed material using a free-flowing or liquefiable adhesive. The adhesive application station comprises, in the sliding surface for the printed materials, at least one outlet for the adhesive and a dosing device which is supplied with adhesive and can be closed by an actuator in a manual, mechanical, electronic and/or sensor-controlled manner. At least two separately closing supply lines for the adhesive end in a common supply channel for the dosing device, directly upstream of the dosing device, said lines each comprising an adhesive reservoir and a pump. In this way, especially a plurality of adhesives can be successively treated on the same installation without any retrofitting.
Abstract: The adhesive application station (14) for binding stacked printed products (10) by means of a liquid or liquefiable adhesive (52) comprises an application station (14) with an adhesive discharge system (15). This system consists substantially of an application head (12) for the adhesive (52) with a slip surface (16) for the printed products (10), and an application nozzle (42) extending over the entire width (g) of the slip surface (16) with at least one outlet opening (20) for the adhesive, an adhesive reservoir (50) and means for generating a pressure on adhesive application. The adhesive discharge system (15) also comprises immediately adjacent to the outlet opening(s) (20), a metering device (44, 45) which can be sealed manually and/or electronically controlled by an actuator (130). This metering device (44, 45) forms with the adhesive reservoir (50) and an integral accumulator (54) a pressure compensation system.
Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive application station provided for bonding stacked printed products using a flowable or liquifiable adhesive. The inventive station comprises an application head which is provided for the adhesive and which has a sliding surface for the printed products. The station also comprises a stop which is arranged on each side of said sliding surface and which is provided for the printed products, and comprises a slotted nozzle which is provided for the adhesive and which extends over the entire width of the sliding surface. The adhesive application station also has an adhesive reservoir that is configured as a pressure chamber and has means for generating pressure in said adhesive reservoir. At least one lateral stop is configured as a lateral guide surface which, within a narrow tolerance zone, automatically compensates for different thicknesses of the stacked printed products that are passing through.
