    Abstract: A microwave attenuator is constructed on an insulative substrate which supports a resistive region, input/output electrodes and shunt electrodes. The shunt electrodes are preferably constructed using trapezoidally shaped portions on the face of the insulative substrate, on which the resistive region is formed, to increase the width of the electrodes. The shunt electrodes extend down to a ground plane on the face of the insulative substrate opposite the face on which the resistive region is formed. In one embodiment, the shunt electrodes form a wide strip on the outside of a rectangular substrate. In another embodiment, the shunt electrodes extend from the resistive region through holes positioned close to the resistive region.

    Abstract: A system for providing a warning when at least two vehicles, first and second vehicles, are near a common collision point. The system includes closed loop verification between a first vehicle and a common collision point. The system includes a first transmitter for transmitting a first radio frequency signal, a first receiver for receiving the first radio frequency signal at the common collision point, a second transmitter for transmitting a second radio frequency signal from the common collision point to the first vehicle and to any approaching vehicles, a second receiver in a vehicle which can receive the second radio frequency signal and indicate that the first and second vehicles are near a common collision point, and a third receiver in the first vehicle for receiving the second radio frequency signal and for providing an indication that a closed loop between the first vehicle and the common collision point is functioning properly.

    Abstract: A direct-crimp coaxial cable connector having a captive inner pin contact includes a tubular main body which extends from the front end which serves as an outer ring contact to the rear end where the tubular main body is crimped over the cable braid of a coaxial cable. A crimp ring is provided inside the rear end of the tubular main body and secures the cable braid of the coaxial cable against a ferrule which is inserted between the cable braid and the cable dielectric prior to crimping. The ferrule captivates an insulator ring and an inner pin contact which are rear-loaded into the tubular main body of the connector prior to crimping. A cylindrical contact insulator is secured inside the front end of the tubular main body, separates the inner pin contact from the front end of the tubular main body and secures the inner pin contact in combination with the insulator ring and ferrule.
