Abstract: A method and system for deodorizing an edible oil or fat. The method includes stripping substances from the oil or fat with a stripping medium at high temperature at a pressure of less than 5 mbar, and reducing volume and increasing pressure of the stripping medium in a multi-step process. In a first step the volume of the stripping medium is reduced by cooling it using a first heat transfer fluid loop at a first temperature, and the pressure is increased to a first intermediate pressure. In a second step the volume is reduced by cooling using a second heat transfer fluid loop at a second temperature, and it he pressure is increased to a second intermediate pressure. In a third step the volume is reduced by cooling using a third heat transfer fluid loop at a third temperature, and the pressure is increased to atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for treating a product with steam. The apparatus includes a treatment tunnel having an entrance opening and an exit opening for introducing and discharging the product, respectively. The apparatus includes a transport unit for transporting the product from the entrance opening to the exit opening and a steam feed unit for feeding steam into the treatment tunnel. The apparatus includes one or more nozzles in communication with the steam feed unit arranged for directing a jet of steam at the product.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for desubliming, condensing or evaporating a fluid. The apparatus includes a chamber and at least one tubular member for desubliming, condensing or evaporating the fluid on the outer surface of the at least one tubular member. The chamber is provided with at least one inlet for the fluid and at least one outlet for the condensate and/or evaporate, and at least one supply and at least one discharge for a cooling and/or heating fluid. The tubular member includes an outer member and an inner member enclosed within the outer member. The inner member is in communication with the supply at a first end. The outer member is in communication with the discharge at a first end. The outer member is closed at a second end. The inner member is open and mouths into the outer member at a second end.

Abstract: A method for condensing on a heat buffer body in a condenser condensable components of charges of vapor intermittently released from a process vessel, wherein, while a part of a vapor charge is supplied directly to the heat buffer body for condensation, another part of the vapor charge is first supplied to a vapor buffer space for buffering, and wherein the other part of the vapor charge is supplied to the heat buffer body only after at least partial condensing of the first part of the vapor charge. The invention also concerns an apparatus for condensing on a heat buffer body in a condenser condensable components of charges of vapor intermittently released from a process vessel.

Abstract: An apparatus for subliming or condensing a water-containing fluid, which apparatus is provided with a tubular holder (1) having a longitudinal direction and at east one tube (2) extending in that longitudinal direction at least within the holder (1), wherein the holder is provided with at least one inlet (5) and at least one outlet (6), there being further provided at least one supply (3) and at least one discharge (4), which are in communication with the interior of the at least one tube (2), which on one side extends through a wall of the holder an is sealingly secured therein an don the other side within the holder terminates with a free end, closed with respect to the interior of the holder, which free end is guided so as to be slidable in longitudinal direction, by guide means which are located at a distance from the wall in which the tube is scalingly secured.
