Abstract: A printing device is implemented to activate a hidden function by inputting tap sequences on a tap screen. The hidden function includes displaying an icon of a title of a secret document on a display screen without showing the content of the secret document. A method for activating the hidden function using tap sequences is also disclosed. The method compares the input tap sequences with a plurality sets of predetermined codes, each of which corresponds to a hidden function. When the input tap sequences match one set of predetermined codes, the method activates and executes the hidden function. By executing the hidden function, the secret document is printed. The tap sequences are tapping actions that do not generate tangible symbols that are reviewable on the tap screen. By doing so, the confidential document is further protected.

The list is provided to the user so that an approved listed document can be selected for printing.

When the conveyance guide is switched to a path formation position, the protruding part is inserted into the inner space of the casing to allow closing of the cover, and when the conveyance guide is switched to a path opening position, the protruding part interferes with the conveyance guide to restrict the closing of the cover. The cooling mechanism includes a main duct, a fan and an air blowing port. The air blowing port is provided in the protruding part, and through which the cooling air is blown from the main duct to the relay conveyance path.

Abstract: A sheet post-processing apparatus includes a first stapler and a second stapler having different thicknesses of sheets on which a binding process can be performed. A control unit can perform a manual staple mode. If the first stapler is selected as a stapler for performing the binding process in the manual staple mode, the control unit controls the alignment member moving mechanism to move alignment members to a position defining a first insertion position for guiding the sheets to a first placing position. If the second stapler is selected, the control unit controls the alignment member moving mechanism to move the alignment members to a position defining a second insertion position for guiding the sheets to a second placing position.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feeder, an image former, an ultrasonic sensor, and a controller. The image former forms an image on a sheet conveyed. The ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the sheet conveyed. The ultrasonic sensor includes a transmitter circuit which sends ultrasonic waves and a receiver circuit which receives the ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic sensor outputs an output voltage in accordance with a strength of the ultrasonic waves received by the receiver circuit. The controller recognizes a current air pressure based on a magnitude of the output voltage.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a hardware acceleration pipeline with filtering engine for column-oriented database management systems with arbitrary scheduling functionality. In one example, a hardware accelerator for data stored in columnar storage format comprises memory to store data and a controller coupled to the memory. The controller to process at least a subset of a page of columnar format in an execution unit with any arbitrary scheduling across columns of the columnar storage format.

The toner mother particles contain a binder resin and a magnetic powder. The external additive includes resin particles as external additive particles. The resin particles have a blocking rate of no greater than 40% by mass. The resin particles have a number average primary particle diameter of at least 40 nm and no greater than 120 nm. A resin constituting the resin particles is a vinyl resin including repeating units represented by general formulas (1) and (2), and a repeating unit derived from a sulfo group-containing vinyl compound. Abstract: Implementations of a flashlight mount are provided. The flashlight mount is configured to position a flashlight on a handguard of a firearm and includes a trigger mechanism configured to actuate a push-button tailcap switch of the flashlight. In a preferred implementation, a flashlight mount comprises: a base that can be secured to a handguard of a firearm; a flashlight mounting ring configured to releasably hold a flashlight; and a trigger mechanism, the trigger mechanism comprises a bifurcated trigger configured to actuate a push-button tailcap switch of the flashlight when pressed forward. In some implementations, the bifurcated trigger comprises two contact members that extend upwardly and outwardly from a body thereof, thereby positioning each contact member on an opposite side of the handguard. In this way, the trigger mechanism of the flashlight mount is configured to facilitate ambidextrous operation of the flashlight.

The chamber sheath may include a non-permeable sidewall and a sealed top wall. The non-permeable sidewall may extend about the first conductivity rod from a top sheath end to a bottom sheath end. The top sheath end may be positioned on the sealed top wall. At least a portion of the bottom sheath end may be positioned above the bottom rod end of the first conductivity rod. The non-permeable sidewall may be radially spaced apart from the first conductivity rod and define a radial chamber therebetween.

Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to improvements in caching operations in storage controllers, including caching operations utilizing direct memory access (DMA) systems, and related devices. Rather than the firmware running on the processor of the storage controller having to traverse a dirty cache sector bitmap and manipulate an original scatter-gather (SG) list in order to generate the two separate SG lists, namely one for the cache and one for the storage device, these operations are offloaded onto new specialized hardware referred to herein as a smart DMA engine in order to free up the processor of the storage controller.

The detachable antenna comprises: an electrically insulating base; a main antenna and a first antenna element, at the base, respectively operable at independent first and second given frequencies. The device further comprises: a memory associating the first and second given frequencies; an antenna port configured to detachably receive the base of the detachable antenna; a second antenna element, at the antenna port, operable to wirelessly interact with the first antenna element when the base of the detachable antenna is received at the antenna port; a circuit configured to detect wireless interactions between the second antenna element and the first antenna element; and a controller configured to: select the first given frequency using the second given frequency, as detected via the circuit; and, thereafter wirelessly communicate via the main antenna operated at the first given frequency.
