Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a supply processing portion, and a second release processing portion. The image forming portion includes a storing portion that stores developer, and forms an image by using the developer stored in the storing portion. The supply processing portion supplies the developer to the storing portion from a developer storing portion attached to an attachment portion, when a storage amount of the developer in the storing portion is less than or equal to a first threshold. The second release processing portion releases regulation on a removal of the developer storing portion when an expected amount of developer to be used by a user is greater than or equal to a reference value that is determined based on a remaining amount of the developer in the developer storing portion attached to the attachment portion.

Abstract: A cleaning device includes a separation and contact mechanism that separates a web from a conveyance roller and brings the web into contact with the conveyance roller, and a controller. The controller includes a conveyed sheet number determination unit and a separation and contact control unit. The conveyed sheet number determination unit monitors a conveyed sheet number of both-surface image forming sheets where image forming processing is applied to both a first surface and a second surface with respect to the sheets conveyed by the conveyance roller, and determines whether or not a cumulative value of the conveyed sheet number has reached a predetermined threshold value. The separation and contact control unit controls the separation and contact mechanism so as to allow the web to be pressed to the conveyance roller by a pressing roller when the cumulative value of the conveyed sheet number has reached the threshold value.

The temperature probe may include an emitter and a receiver for non-contact measurement of a diameter of the cooking utensil.
Abstract: A method includes communicatively coupling a first client device to a platform that distributes live streams over a network to client devices. The live streams provide a live broadcast of a live event from multiple viewpoints captured by source devices including a second client device. An indication is received of a selection of a first viewpoint from the first client device and, in response, a first live stream is provided to the first client device. The first client device is caused to display a second viewpoint with a different vantage point by rendering a second live stream of a second source device. The second live stream is delayed for rendering until a beginning of a next scene of the first live stream.
Abstract: An optical system may include an objective lens system having a primary optical axis and a relay lens system having a relay optical axis. The relay optical axis may have a first angular offset with respect to the primary optical axis. The objective lens system may be configured to provide light from a light source to the relay lens system and provide light from the relay lens system to an image sensor. The relay lens system may be configured to provide light from the objective lens system to an end face of an optical fiber, where the end face has a second angular offset with respect to a cross-sectional axis of the optical fiber. The relay lens system may provide light reflected from the end face to the objective lens system.
Abstract: A mechanical suture fastener includes a crimpable sleeve defining a channel therein. The crimpable sleeve also has a sleeve length, a channel diameter, and a sleeve length to channel diameter ratio of at least 4.0. The mechanical suture fastener also includes a flange joined to the crimpable sleeve on a distal end of the sleeve. The flange further includes a distal opening which is in communication with a proximal opening defined by the crimpable sleeve. The mechanical suture fastener also includes an inner flange radius of at least 0.007 inches.
Abstract: The electrical collector body of the secondary battery includes a resin layer, and metal foils that cover both surfaces of the resin layer. On the metal foils, multiple holes are formed.

Abstract: A developing device includes a development casing, a developer carrying member, and a regulating blade. The development casing has an opening part. The developer carrying member has a developing area. The development casing has a blade facing part. The regulating blade includes a fixed part and a regulating part, and a space between the regulating part and the blade facing part is larger than a space between the fixed part and the blade facing part. The developing device further includes a blade seal member. The blade seal member is disposed between the regulating blade and the blade facing part, and is glued to an upstream side surface of the regulating part in the rotation direction, so as to seal a gap between the regulating blade and the blade facing part.
Abstract: An intermediate transfer unit includes an intermediate transfer belt, a. driving roller, a. tension roller, and a roller supporting frame. The roller supporting frame includes first and second supporting frames, and has a coupling portion formed on it. The coupling portion includes a rotary shaft and a. shall hole. The roller supporting frame shifts from a first state to a second state by rotating the first supporting frame in the forward direction to have the intermediate transfer belt wound around it. The rotary shaft includes a projection. A shaft hole has a restricting wall portion. As the first supporting frame in the second state rotates in the forward direction, the projection makes contact with the restricting wall portion to restrict rotation of the first supporting frame in the forward direction.
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a card having (i) an infrared-blocking material capable of blocking a plurality of near infrared wavelengths and (ii) at least one phosphor particle capable of absorbing at least one near-infrared wavelength, and a card reader capable of allowing a user to interrogate the card and determine if it is authentic, and to read information from the card. The card reader typically includes a processor configured to cause the card reader to emit at least one wavelength of light, receive at least one additional wavelength of light emitting by the at least one phosphor particle, and identify at least one characteristic of the at least one phosphor particle selected from the group consisting of a location on the card, a rise time of the phosphor, and a decay time of the phosphor.
Abstract: A power storage module includes: a plurality of power storage cells stacked along a first direction; an end plate provided at an end of a stack of the plurality of power storage cells; and a restraint member that restrains the end plate and the plurality of power storage cells in the first direction. The restraint member includes a thin portion, a thick portion, and a stepped surface between the thin portion and the thick portion, the thin portion and the thick portion being formed in one piece. The stepped surface is in abutment with the end plate in the first direction.
Abstract: In some examples, high speed bidirectional OTDR-based testing may include transmitting data from a first end of a device under test (DUT) towards an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) that is operatively connected to a second opposite end of the DUT. Further data that is transmitted by the OTDR may be received from the second opposite end of the DUT towards the first end of the DUT. Based on an amplitude of the further data, a direction of receiving of the further data may be adjusted towards a first receiver or towards a second receiver.
