Abstract: A method of forming a fin field effect transistor (finFET) having fin(s) with reduced dimensional variations, including forming a dummy fin trench within a perimeter of a fin pattern region on a substrate, forming a dummy fin fill in the dummy fin trench, forming a plurality of vertical fins within the perimeter of the fin pattern region, including border fins at the perimeter of the fin pattern region and interior fins located within the perimeter and inside the bounds of the border fins, wherein the border fins are formed from the dummy fin fill, and removing the border fins, wherein the border fins are dummy fins and the interior fins are active vertical fins.
Abstract: A therapeutic, fitness, and sports enhancement device which includes a cylindrically shaped body having a predetermined density and predetermined diameter, the body including a plurality of projections of a predetermined shape. One or more of the predetermined density and the predetermined diameter in combination with the predetermined shape of the projections optimize mobilization of soft tissue structures of the human body.
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the yield stress of a non-Newtonian fluid in real time are provided. A pressure loss and/or liquid rise technique, an ultrasonic technique, and/or a penetrometer technique can be used to determine the yield stress of a non-Newtonian fluid. The ultrasonic technique can include a longitudinal wave approach and/or a shear wave approach. The methods and systems are non-invasive and only require slight modifications to the piping containing the non-Newtonian fluid in order to measure the yield stress.

Abstract: A method for manipulating a piece of material for use as a tab in conjunction with a container. The method includes accessing piece of relatively thin, sheet-like material and forming a hole in the piece of material. The method further includes performing a wiping operation to deform material adjacent to the hole, and performing at least one coining operation to flatten the deformed material. After the at least one coining operation the piece of material has an area of increased thickness adjacent to the hole, and after the at least one coining operation the piece of material has a generally straight inner portion at least partially defining the hole, where the generally straight portion extends at least about 20% of a height of the hole.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite product includes recovering a wet composite waste from at least one of the manufacturing process or an end-of-life product. The wet composite waste includes a first resin and a plurality of first fibers that are bound together with the first resin. The method also includes grinding the wet composite waste after recovering the wet composite waste. The method also includes mixing the wet composite waste with the second resin into a homogeneous mixture and placing the homogeneous mixture into a cavity. The method includes curing the second resin of the homogeneous mixture such that the homogenous mixture hardens to form a composite product that includes the first resin, the second resin, and the plurality of first fibers.
Abstract: A process for respiratory rehabilitation treatment, the process comprises treating a patient with a laser, resurfacing the treatment location by applying pulses of laser light. The process comprises treating a patient with administering an injection, injecting a primary injection solution into an injection location and injecting a secondary injection solution comprises at least a concentrate solution into an injection location. This process treats patients with breathing difficulties with injection of PRP and/or PRF into the soft palate and surrounding tissue. The treatment may be combined with CO2 and/or Nd-YAG laser treatment.
Abstract: A container and a cap formed during a step of a blow, fill and/or seal method and/or a form, fill and/or seal method. The cap can be connected to the container. The cap is used to cover and/or lock the container. A breakable frangible membrane connects the cap and the container. In some embodiments of this invention, a force is applied to the cap, and when the force is applied, the force has a magnitude large enough to break the breakable frangible membrane.
Abstract: An encoder configured to encode a video bitstream for decoding by a compliant decoder configured to receive the bitstream, the encoded bitstream including a reference picture and a current picture including a coded current block, the bitstream also including an index useful for determining a scaling factor. The decoder determines that a mode when a reference picture and a current picture have different resolutions is enabled. Utilizing the mode, the decoder reconstructs the coded current block encoded by the encoder by determining a scaling factor using information in the bitstream including the index, determining a scaled prediction block by scaling a block of the reference picture using the scaling factor and by applying a pixel interpolation filter determined specifically for the prediction block and combining the scaled prediction block with a residual.

The processes include mixing tailings with a high concentration of a highly water soluble salt or an aqueous solution thereof to destabilize and consolidate solids in the tailings and separating the consolidated solids from process water.

An encoding method includes extracting a plurality of features from an image, representing each of the image features as a two-dimensional feature unit, grouping the feature units into at least one subpicture of the frame, and encoding the video frame into a bitstream. A compatible decoder for reconstructing the sequence of features is also provided.
