Abstract: A drafting device for a textile machine, in particular an air-jet spinning machine, wherein the drafting device can have a plurality of roller pairs which can be driven differently from one another. The roller pairs can be designed and arranged to guide a sliver between a top roller and a bottom roller of the roller pairs during their rotational operation in order to stretch the sliver. The drafting device can be designed and configured to carry out a piecing process after the sliver has been severed in the drafting device. In order to optimize a spinning process, it is provided that the drafting device is designed and configured to engage at least two roller pairs via their drive in a defined manner during the piecing process.

Abstract: Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a method that includes receiving a first sense signal from a first sensing array, the first sensing array configured to provide the first sense signal indicating a first touch on a first touch surface of a touch substrate as well as receiving a second sense signal from a second sensing array, the second sensing array configured to provide the second sense signal indicating a second touch on a second touch surface of a second touch substrate occurring concurrently to the first touch. The method may further include determining whether the first touch and the second touch share at least one anti-ghost. The method may also include associating the first touch and the second touch with a common touch entity in response to determining that the first touch and the second touch share the at least one anti-ghost.

Abstract: A system for providing mobile electric power includes a first transport including a gas turbine and a generator and a second transport including an air inlet filter housing and an exhaust stack. The two transports are connectable to each other at an intake connection and an exhaust connection between facing sides of the two transports. The first transport includes first and second inlet ports, and first, second, and third outlet ports on the facing side of the first transport. The intake connection provides filtered air from the air inlet filter housing to the first inlet port as combustion air for the gas turbine, and the second inlet port as cooling air to cool an enclosure of the gas turbine. The exhaust connection exhausts air to the exhaust stack from the first, second and third outlet ports.

Abstract: The present invention entails a method of treating an ion exchange regenerant stream containing selenate and removing the selenate from the regenerant stream through an oxidation-reduction process where selenate is reduced to selenite and the selenite is adsorbed onto an adsorbent which, in one embodiment, comprises iron oxide or iron oxy hydroxide. In particular, the method includes catalytically reducing the selenate to selenite in a selenate reduction reactor by reacting iron powder with the selenate in the presence of a nickel powder, which functions as a catalyst, to form selenite which is then adsorbed onto the iron oxide or iron oxy hydroxide.

Abstract: A device may capture, using a camera associated with a microscope, a first image of interstitial material associated with a first set of optical fibers in a field of view of the camera. The device may perform a comparison of the first image of interstitial material and a second image of interstitial material associated with a second set of optical fibers. The device may determine that the first set of optical fibers does not include an expected set of optical fibers based on a result of performing the comparison. The device may determine an amount by which to adjust the field of view of the camera based on the result of performing the comparison. The device may perform one or more actions.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for validating data, such as data related to testing or sampling a batch of a product, with a data compliance tracking system. An exemplary method includes receiving at least one data point from a computing element, wherein the data point corresponds to data collected from a sampling of at least one parameter during a batch run of a product and includes time stamp data; determining limit information corresponding to the at least one parameter, wherein the limit information includes at least one limit associated with at the least one parameter and has an associated valid value range; storing the at least one data point and the limit information; receiving an analytics request from a user device; analyzing the stored limit information to apply a limit to a select data point; and displaying an analytics output.

Abstract: A method for detecting identity theft or identity change in managed computing systems is disclosed. An apparatus and computer program product also perform the functions of the method. The method includes identifying that a unique identifier of a first computing device assigned a first IP address matches a unique identifier of a second computing device assigned a second IP address and, in response to identifying that the unique identifier of the first computing device matches the unique identifier of the second computing device, sending a test message to the first computing device using the first IP address. The method includes sending an alert of a possible malicious event in response to receiving a response to the test message and sending an alert of a possible misconfiguration in response to a failure to receive a response to the test message.

Abstract: Beamforming communication systems with crossbar switches are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a beamforming communication system includes an antenna array partitioned into a plurality of sub-arrays, a plurality of front-end channels each operatively associated with one of the sub-arrays, a plurality of data conversion channels, and a crossbar switch electrically connected between the data conversion channels and the front-end channels. Including the crossbar switch allows for a flexible allocation of the data conversion channels to the front-end channels and subsequently to each individual antenna element in the array.

Abstract: A video encoder is provided which generates a bitstream for decoding by a compliant decoder having an interprediction mode for generating a predictor from a reference picture for a subsequent picture having a spatial resolution different from the reference picture. The encoder provides a bitstream in which the decoder can scale the spatial resolution of a block of pixels of the reference picture using a scale factor signaled in the encoded bitstream and using a filter chosen for the particular block of the reference picture and not the reference picture as a whole to form a predictor.

Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer composition and method of making the thermoplastic elastomer are disclosed. The thermoplastic elastomer may comprise a polymer blend. The polymer bland may comprise a non-crosslinked elastomer, oil, polyethylene, and anti-oxidant. The oil may be from about 15 wt. % to about 50 wt. % oil. The polyethylene may be from about 3 wt. % to about 30 wt. %. The anti-oxidant may be from about 0 to about 0.5 wt. %.

The image recognition device (image sensor 1) according to the present disclosure includes an imaging unit (10) and a recognition unit (14). The imaging unit (10) generates image data by capturing a plurality of images in different wavelength bands using imaging pixels (R, G, B, IR) receiving light in four or more types of wavelength bands. The recognition unit (14) recognizes a subject from each of the plurality of pieces of image data for each of the wavelength bands.
