Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an input device, an operation device, and a control device. The control device functions as a controller. The controller accepts an input of a plurality of topic words through the operation device, recognizes, upon acceptance of input of images of a plurality of pages of the original document through the operation device, a character string in the image of each of the plurality of pages of the original document, makes a determination of whether or not the character string contains at least one of the plurality of input topic words, and classifies the respective images of the plurality of pages of the original document on basis of the individual topic word based on results of the determination for the individual pages of the original document by collecting the images of the pages of the original document containing the same topic word into one group.
Abstract: A method for regulating a voltage reference signal includes providing a first output current during a first interval and a boosted output current during a second interval to generate a low-dropout voltage reference signal based on a first power supply voltage, a second power supply voltage, and a reference voltage level. The method includes, during the second interval, compensating for a voltage drop caused by providing the boosted output current. The first output current may be provided in a first mode of operation. The boosted output current and voltage drop compensation may be provided in a boosted mode of operation.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate generally to driverless printing. In a method, time expired files are hidden in a hot folder. The hot folder is configured to push a print job entry for the driverless printing for the time expired files. The hiding includes: renaming a first data file name to a second data file name; marking the second data file name as processing in association with operation of the hot folder; mapping a relationship between the first data file name and the second data file name; renaming a first reference file name to a second reference file name; marking the second reference file name as processing in association with operation of the hot folder; and mapping a relationship between the first reference file name and the second reference file name. The print job entry is created for the print job and is pushed for the time expired files.
Abstract: Provided are methods of nucleic acid sample preparation for analysis, including analysis using nanopore sequencing applications. In particular provided are methods that allow for the creation of circular and linear DNA samples that contain asymmetric ends to ligate different and desired adaptors to the end of the sample, methods to create single nucleic acid molecules that automatically form concatemers for higher sequencing throughput; methods to create multiple copies (temperature dependent, multi-primed, open-fold replication) of one original nucleic acid sample, or to create single nucleic acid molecules containing multiple copies of more than one original nucleic acid sample (concatemerized samples) for improved accuracy and throughput are described; and methods for improved modified base calling.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for solar tracking and controlling an angular position of a photovoltaic power system. The solar tracking system includes an imaging device for capturing images of the sky; a solar position data generating module; and a control system comprising a neural network. The neural network has multiple convolutional layers to generate a first output associated with the images, and a solar position data module. A first dense layer module receives the solar position data and generates a second output. A second dense layer module receives the first output and the second output and generates a concatenated data sequence. A processor is programmed to generate a multi-planar irradiance signal (MPIS) in response to the concatenated data sequence, and determine an angular position of the PV power system and adjust the angular position in response to an angle of maximum irradiance.

Abstract: A number of illustrative variations may include a system including brake-to-steer algorithms may achieve lateral control of a vehicle without longitudinal compensation but may also force a vehicle to slow down too rapidly before appropriate lateral movement can be achieved and may deliver an unnatural driving experience for vehicle occupants. A more natural feeling deceleration may be achieved by optimally selecting appropriate transmission shifts to allow for optimal engine speed or electric motor speed and torque based on current vehicle speed thereby reducing undesirably longitudinal disturbance.

Abstract: Photolatent olefin metathesis catalysts can be used in combination with metathesis-active monomers or resins for photopolymerization-based additive manufacturing via ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). A variety of alternative catalysts and photosensitizers are commercially available that allows for tuning of thermomechanical properties, potlifes, activation rates, and irradiation wavelengths. As an example, two optimized catalyst/photosensitizer systems were demonstrated in the rapid stereolithographic printing of complex, multidimensional poly-dicyclopentadiene structures with microscale features under ambient conditions.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically detecting misinformation is disclosed. The misinformation detection system is implemented using a cross-stitch based semi-supervised end-to-end neural attention model which is configured to leverage the large amount of unlabeled data that is available. In one embodiment, the model can at least partially generalize and identify emerging misinformation as it learns from an array of relevant external knowledge. Embodiments of the proposed system rely on heterogeneous information such as a social media post's text content, user details, and activity around the post, as well as external knowledge from the web, to identify whether the content includes misinformation. The results of the model are produced via an attention mechanism.

Abstract: Highly conductive electrical traces formed over mechanical steps or on non-planar surfaces with linewidths of 10 to 100 ?m and a method for forming such electrical traces are disclosed. The method employs two steps, with the first step using an aerosol jet printing (AJP) process to form thin electrical traces that serve as the seed layers for the second step. The first step preferably employs multiple passes with the AJP to create multiple seed sub-layers with improved continuity and conductivity. In the second step, the seed layers are subjected to an electrodeposition process that forms the bulk of the thickness of the electrical traces. The electrodeposition process may include one, two, or three phases at corresponding low or high biases, with low biases providing denser, more highly conductive plating sub-layers, while high biases provide plating sub-layers having better gap bridging properties.
