Abstract: A method of producing alkanes containing chlorine by addition of chlorine to C—C double bonds or C—C triple bonds or by exchange of hydrogen for chlorine by contacting the starting compound in the gas or liquid phase with elemental chlorine and irradiating the reaction mixture with UV light having a wavelength of ?>280 nm. In this way pentachloroethane can be produced from trichloroethylene, CFC-113 from HCFC-123 or HFC-133a, CFC-112a from HCFC-142b, or HCFC-123 from HCFC-133a. The method also is suitable for separating photochlorinatable impurities from HFC-365-mfc to obtain purified HFC-365-mfc. Advantages include high yields and excellent selectivity.

Abstract: The use of selective CB1 receptor antagonistic compounds for treating and/or inhibiting CB1 receptor related diseases in juvenile patients (pediatric treatment), e.g. in particular obesity in juvenile patients, and/or for the treatment and/or inhibition of drug induced obesity in juvenile as well as in adolescent patients, and for the manufacture of pharmaceutical compositions for such purposes.
Abstract: A method of treating or inhibiting anti-arrhythmic events in male human patients by administering to a patient in need thereof a pharmaceutically effective amount of a 3,7-diazabicyclo[3,3,1]nonane compound, preferably a 9,9-alkylene-3,7-diazabicyclo[3,3,1]nonane compound, and especially preferably tedisamil, or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof or a solvate thereof. The method is particularly useful in converting recent onset of atrial fibrillation (Afib) or flutter to normal sinus rhythm (NSR) in male human patients.

Abstract: A urine collecting device for horses, especially mares, suitable for attachment to a special holding harness and a special head part therefor, which is advantageously suitable for collecting pregnant mares' urine for obtaining natural mixtures of conjugated estrogens. The holding harness with urine collecting device according to the invention offers high flexibility and wearing comfort for the horse. The horse's freedom of movement is not substantially impaired by the holding harness with urine collecting device, so grazing is possible, and it is not necessary to tether the horse in a narrow stall. The urine collecting device of the invention is distinguished in particular in that the urine collecting part and the head part are joined via a detachable connection, such as a bayonet lock.
Abstract: A method for obtaining an extract containing the natural mixture of conjugated equine estrogens in which a mixture of conjugated estrogens obtained by solid-phase extraction from pregnant mares' urine is depleted in phenolic urine contents and in non-conjugated lipophilic compounds selected from the group consisting of non-conjugated flavonoids, non-conjugated isoflavonoids, non-conjugated norisoprenoids, non-conjugated steroids, in particular androstane and pregnane steroids, and comparable non-conjugated compounds.
Abstract: A pharmaceutical matrix film tablet with controlled release of natural mixtures of conjugated estrogens which have been obtained from the urine of pregnant mares.

Abstract: A method of inhibiting spontaneous or habitual miscarriage by administering to a female patient in need thereof an effective amount of at least one immunologically active non-endogenous gestagen compound.
Abstract: A method of treating and/or inhibiting immunological disease states which are associated with a Th1 dominated reaction pattern of the pathological immune response by administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of at least one non-endogenous gestagen compound.
Abstract: A method for obtaining an extract from a natural mixture of conjugated estrogens from the urine of pregnant mares (PMU) by solid-phase extraction on semipolar adsorption resins in which the resulting extract meets the pharmaceutical specifications for conjugated estrogens and the content of free estrogens is minimized even if old pregnant mares' urine and/or pregnant mares' urine which has been stored or transported at elevated temperatures is used.
Abstract: A method of treating or inhibiting an immunological disease state which is associated with a Th2 dominated reaction pattern of the pathological immune response by administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of an antagonist for the human progesterone receptor.
Abstract: A pharmaceutical preformulation in the form of a solid, free-flowing dry extract of a natural mixture of conjugated equine estrogens, which is particularly suitable use in for solid galenic forms, e.g. tabletting. The conjugated estrogens are available for further galenic processing in a form which assures the chemical stability of the hormones and permits advantageous processing into solid galenic forms, for example a tablet. The invention furthermore relates to a method for producing these preformulations in the form of a dry extract.

Abstract: A net blanket for a horse for use as an easy-to-handle holding harness for flexible and easily replaceable attachment of a urine collecting device to the horse, which net blanket comprises a net (1) for covering the predominant part of the horse's rump, the net blanket at the sides reaching down to at most approximately the lower rump line and being closed or closable in front of the breast of the horse (2). The net blanket according to the invention is useful to flexibly suspend a urine collecting device for obtaining a natural mixture of conjugated estrogens from pregnant mares' urine.
