Patents Assigned to Somet Societa' Meccanica Tessile S.p.A.
  • Patent number: 6260586
Abstract: A device for cutting the weft yarn in weaving looms includes a fixed-blade and movable-blade cutting group which has associated motor for the cutting movement of the movable blade in order to perform cutting of the weft yarn. The fixed and movable blades are each mounted on the end of respective elongated blade-carrying arms which extend respectively above and below the fabric holder of the loom, as far as a cutting zone located beyond the leading edge of the fabric holder itself in the direction of the reed, a zone in which said blades overlap so as to perform cutting of the weft.

  • Patent number: 4537228
Abstract: In a weft presenting device for weaving looms with continuous weft feed, the levers controlling the presenting needles are subjected, on one side, to the constant action of return springs towards the inoperative position of said needles and, on the other side, to the cyclic action of cam-controlled control rods towards the operative position of said needles, the levers being kept in this position by electromagnets energized by the selection devices forming the pattern of the fabric being woven, up to operating said needles.

  • Patent number: 4298034
Abstract: A device for presenting the weft in weaving looms comprising a plurality of oscillating presenting rods having their free end in the form of an eyelet for the weft thread, a corresponding plurality of control levers for the rods, magnet means for causing the oscillation of the control levers under the control of a weft selection device, and a transversal bar for operating the levers being adapted to engage an appropriate seat of those of the levers having been selected by the selection device through the magnet means - the transversal operating bar has a flattened section with mixed-line contour, adapted to freely insert itself into the seat of the control levers of the device, the seat having a corresponding mixed-line contour section, and to respectively cooperate with the seat (like a pin in a hole), depending on the reciprocal position between the transversal bar and the seats of the levers; and the bar is fixed to an end of at least one guide lever which controls the position thereof during its movements

  • Patent number: 4231402
Abstract: Drawing gripper for weaving looms with continuous weft feed comprising a claw ending into a hook and an oscillating element, rigidly cooperating with each other for holding the weft thread grasped by the hook, said element being caused to oscillate about its own longitudinal axis by being pivoted into a support of the gripper body as well as into the hook end of said claw.

  • Patent number: 4129155
Abstract: A weft carrying gripper for shuttleless looms with stationary weft supply, comprises a lower jaw whose relatively stationary upper surface is adapted to contact the weft. A rigid lever pivoted on the gripper carries a metallic lamina at one end that releasably grips the weft thread between itself and the stationary surface of the lower jaw. The same end of the lever also carries a leaf spring that bears resiliently against the lamina. A further leaf spring at the other end of the lever contacts an adjustable portion of the gripper to swing the lever in a direction to urge the lamina toward its weft-gripping position. That other end of the lever serves as a cam which when depressed releases the weft thread.

  • Patent number: 4086942
Abstract: A device for weft tensioning adjustment in weaving looms of the type having continuous weft feed, to be applied at the side of the loom. The device comprises - mounted on a single support - a pair of elastic resilient laminae, biased into mutual contact with an adjustable pressure knob and arranged in the path of the weft thread being supplied, for engaging said thread between them and providing for the braking thereof, and an oscillating lever ending with a threadguide, through which eye is passed the weft thread, after engagement between said laminae and before reaching carrying members, said oscillating lever being adjustably urged by spring means to move away from said laminae and from said members, in order to take up slack in said weft thread when it exists.

  • Patent number: 4076054
Abstract: A weft presenting device for looms with selective weft feed, of the type wherein presenting rods are operated one at a time by respective control magnets, so as to be ejected from the device itself for presenting their own weft thread, provides for each single rod to be positively controlled, during both its advancing and its return motion, by a mechanism controlled by a cam, wherein a pawl interlocked with the control magnet locks, when energized, the end of a lever of said mechanism, to impose on said lever the movements for operating the back and forth motions of the rod; while, when de-energized, said pawl frees the end of said lever, allowing the same to perform idle movements.
