  • Patent number: 7020778
Abstract: A method for issuing an electronic identity based on previously certified electronic identity. This is accomplished by providing a method to use a previously certified identity to create another representational form for the same identity. This way the holder of a certificate can extend his or her already verified identity for other uses. The previously certified identity can be for instance so called mobile identity which is associated to a person's mobile terminal such as mobile phone. The person can show to certificate be his/her own by using the digital signature feature of the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 7000117
Abstract: In a method and system for authenticating locally-stored program code, a first checksum is computed using the locally-stored program code, the computed checksum is compared with a second checksum known to be valid and, if the two checksums are determined to match, the locally-stored program code is deemed valid and authentic. For increased certification reliability and dependability, before computation of the first checksum a predetermined challenge is added to the stored program code, so that the first checksum is computed from the combination of the stored program code and the challenge. This enhancement enables secure use of stored program code in applications that demand high security. Users of such software may therefore rely on the authenticity of the data processed by the software and of the data and results reported on the display of a mobile phone or keyboard throughout the entire process or transaction.

  • Publication number: 20030074557
Abstract: A method and a system for managing property such as articles, devices, apparatus, systems or information. The system includes a database (DB) for storing information relating to the property and its owner. An unambiguous identifier that individualizes the property is created based on information attached to the property; the identifier is saved to a database and is entered into the database as certified after fulfillment of a predetermined condition. Before it is saved to the database, the identifier is digitally signed using a certified signing key and data of the property owner is attached to the digitally signed identifier.

  • Patent number: 6169890
Abstract: A method and apparatus for effecting user-initiated communications, such as payment transactions, between user-accessible data terminal equipment communicatingly linkable with a mobile telephone exchange and at least one service provider, wherein each user or subscriber has a service card that is uniquely associated with that system subscriber, preferably employs a dedicated network to which the mobile exchange is connected at one end of the network and the service provider is connected at another end. The user's identity is locally authenticated before a communications connection through the network is provided, and user access rights to particular services of the service provider are determined in a database at the service provider end of the network. The invention is particularly well suited to the use of a SIM-card in a GSM-network to provide secure communications in an environment demanding high data security.
