Abstract: The present invention refers to a method and a system for identifying by an identifying application, a specific piece of audio content played back by a streaming application based on modulating the specific piece of audio content with an audio watermark comprising an identification number. In response to said identification, additional content corresponding to the specific piece of audio content is rendered on a mobile device of a user. The present invention further discloses various details regarding the way the audio watermark is modulated onto a carrier signal given by the piece of audio content and regarding how the process of identifying a specific piece of content is performed which allows to significantly increase the reliability, speed and security of such a method and system based on the watermarking technology.
Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamically providing content complementary to a content being rendered on mobile devices based on determining a context of the device based on identifying an encoded unique audio identifier. The transmission and playback of the complementary content is synchronized with the currently rendered content by dynamically taking into account the context of a user operating the mobile device. The context of a user may be built from considering a piece of currently rendered content, characteristics of a profile of a vendor, characteristics of the individual user and/or the user's individual profile, date, time of day and/or further additional information. The context may further take into account the current position and/or location of the user as acoustically triangulated based on sending and/or receiving unique audio identifiers as a high frequency audio signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes an efficient computer-implemented near-field communication system and method based on broadcasting audio signals for dynamically providing context-related additional content to a mobile device. In embodiments of the present invention, the additional content is mapped to specific audio watermarks and/or triggering commands which are encoded together into a digital signal. Based on continuously scanning the received background noise, an exactly defined frequency range and volume is dynamically selected for broadcasting the signal. Hence, the encoded digital signal is further modulated into an audio signal in the exactly defined frequency range. In embodiments of the present invention, the selected exactly defined frequency range for transmitting the audio signal may preferably be located in the ultrasound and/or infrasound frequency range.
