Publication number: 20210250338Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to broadcasting encrypted data to multiple receiver devices, where some receiver devices have long-term access to the encrypted data and some receiver devices have a temporary access to the encrypted data. Receivers having long-term access are part of a “member group” because these member group devices have a master key and the master key enables the member group devices to derive the necessary information to decrypt the encrypted broadcast. In contrast, devices with temporary access possess only a guest key and not master key, without a master key the devices need to receive the guest key from another device to decrypt the broadcast. Access to the encrypted stream can also be based on broadcasting multiple or single diversifiers, where a diversifier can include group identification information to assist in restricting access to the encrypted stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2020Publication date: August 12, 2021Applicant: Sonova AGInventor: Stephan Gehring

Patent number: 11089411Abstract: A binaural hearing system includes first and second hearing devices communicatively coupled by way of a binaural communication link. The first hearing device determines that a signal quality measure of a wireless signal transmitted by the remote audio source is greater than an upper threshold level. In response, both hearing devices enter a wireless audio rendering mode in which they render a remote audio stream from the remote audio source to a user. While operating in the wireless audio rendering mode, both hearing devices determine that a signal quality measure of the remote audio stream drops below a lower threshold level. In response to this determination, both hearing devices exit the wireless audio rendering mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2019Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: Sonova AGInventors: Georg Dickman, Daniel Lucas-Hirtz, Doris Zahnd

Patent number: 11068233Abstract: In some implementations, the disclosed technology determines that a microphone is likely closer to a sound source compared to other microphones partially based on determining a spectral standard deviation associated with an audio signal captured by the microphone. In some implementations, the disclosed technology determines a spectral standard deviation of audio signals associated with different microphones and determines that the microphone with the lowest spectral standard deviation is likely the closest microphone to a sound source. The disclosed technology can determine the closest microphone generally independent of input signal level, independent of microphone sensitivity, independent of microphone design, independent of microphone manufacturer, and independent of the sound source intensity (e.g., “loud” or “soft”).Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2017Date of Patent: July 20, 2021Assignee: Sonova AGInventor: Eleftheria Georganti
