In case the manipulation receiving unit does not receive an input operation for a predetermined time period, a state control unit sets an operation state to a power saving state. However, if the voice receiving unit receives voice input before a non-operation time period reaches the predetermined time period, the status control unit does not set the operation state to the power saving state even if the manipulation receiving unit does not receive an input operation during the predetermined time period. The non-operation time period is defined as a time period during which the manipulation receiving unit does not receive an input operation.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a front panel made of resin. The front panel is disposed on the front side of an organic electroluminescent display panel and functions as the front surface of the electronic device; and an adhesive agent layer formed between the organic electroluminescent display panel and the front panel. The organic electroluminescent display panel is fixed to the front panel via the adhesive agent layer. This structure is able to reduce a load applied to the organic electroluminescent display panel and ensure shock resistance for the organic electroluminescent display panel.

Abstract: Consumer electronic devices have been developed with enormous information processing capabilities, high quality audio and video outputs, large amounts of memory, and may also include wired and/or wireless networking capabilities. Additionally, relatively unsophisticated and inexpensive sensors, such as microphones, video camera, GPS or other position sensors, when coupled with devices having these enhanced capabilities, can be used to detect subtle features about users and their environments. A variety of audio, video, simulation and user interface paradigms have been developed to utilize the enhanced capabilities of these devices. These paradigms can be used separately or together in any combination. One paradigm automatically creating user identities using speaker identification. Another paradigm includes a control button with 3-axis pressure sensitivity for use with game controllers and other input devices.

Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus and methods to perform thermal management in a computing environment. In one embodiment, thermal attributes are associated with operations and/or processing components, and the operations are scheduled for processing by the components so that a thermal threshold is not exceeded. In another embodiment, hot and cool queues are provided for selected operations, and the processing components can select operations from the appropriate queue so that the thermal threshold is not exceeded.

Abstract: In an image display apparatus, an image classification unit generates one or more of image groups by classifying image data to which attribution information is added based on the attribute information. A display control unit displays, on a display device, a list of a plurality of thumbnail images of the image data included in each of the image groups generated by the image classification unit, in a manner in which the plurality of thumbnail images are piled up for every image group. A number of alignment regions across the statements are identified by aligning the statements on a word set basis. Each aligned word set represents an alignment region. A number of potential confusion zones are identified across the statements. Each potential confusion zone is defined by words from two or more of the statements at corresponding positions outside the alignment regions. For each of the identified potential confusion zones, phonetic pronunciations of the words within the potential confusion zone are analyzed to determine a measure of confusion probability between the words when audibly processed by a speech recognition system during the computing event. An identity of the potential confusion zones across the statements and their corresponding measure of confusion probability are reported to facilitate grammar structure improvement.
