  • Patent number: 9207718
Abstract: A portable electronic device 100 includes a horizontally long casing, both ends of which are gripped by a user's both hands, respectively. The device further includes a LCD fit into the front face of the casing 10. Outwardly projecting bulges are respectively formed at both sides of the rear face of the casing where fingers of the user gripping the casing 10 placed. Since the fingers and palms are naturally flexed to fit to the dome-like bulges 42L, 42R, the portable electronic device 100 fits comfortably in the user's hands. The operability is hard to be degraded even if the device is vibrated strongly during a game play with the device.

  • Patent number: 9202440
Abstract: Information is configured in a tree structure comprising a root node, internal nodes, and leaf nodes, and an image is prepared for each node. Links to images of internal nodes are set in a root node image. When a display area satisfies a predetermined link condition the display target is switched from the root node image to an image of an internal node. A link to a leaf node image is set in each of the internal node images. Further, an order is defined for the leaf node images so that the images can be successively accessed. When the display is switched from a link area of an internal node image to a leaf node image and the display is to return to the internal node after images of leaf nodes are accessed, the image area of the internal node is displayed according to the number of images traversed.

  • Patent number: 9204126
Abstract: A three-dimensional content playback unit outputs to two or more image buffers a plurality of stereoscopic images of three-dimensional content, including a first parallax image and a second parallax image, resulting from viewing an object in a virtual three-dimensional space from different viewpoints. An interrupt request receiving unit receives an interrupt request requesting that a control menu be displayed. A control menu output unit overwrites, responsive to the acquisition of an interrupt request by the interrupt request receiving unit, a drawn image of an object in a three-dimensional space with an image of an object of the control menu drawn with parallax while moving the object of the control menu in the depth direction of the virtual three-dimensional space away from the viewpoint, regardless of the relative positions of the object of the control menu and the object in the three-dimensional space.

  • Publication number: 20150339805
Abstract: An imaging device includes a first camera and a second camera and shoots the same object under different shooting conditions. A shot-image data acquirer of an image analyzer acquires data of two images simultaneously shot from the imaging device. A correcting section aligns the distributions of the luminance value between the two images by carrying out correction for either one of the two images. A correction table managing section switches and generates a correction table to be used according to the function implemented by the information processing device. A correction table storage stores the correction table showing the correspondence relationship between the luminance values before and after correction. A depth image generator performs stereo matching by using the two images and generates a depth image.

  • Patent number: 9189146
Abstract: When a game operation image is displayed on a touch panel of a portable terminal, the size of a game display screen and the operation image are small and therefore the progress of a game becomes difficult. Even in the case of a terminal having only a touch panel of a limited size, an operation image having a size that affects the progress of a game as little as possible is displayed on the touch panel by superimposing the operation image on a game display screen at a position that affects the progress of the game as little as possible.

  • Publication number: 20150326547
Abstract: Data may be protected using a combination of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. A symmetric key may be generated and the data may be encrypted with the symmetric key. The symmetric key and a only a portion of the symmetrically encrypted data may then be encrypted with an asymmetric public key. The entire set of encrypted data, including the asymmetrically encrypted symmetric key, the doubly encrypted portion of data, and the remainder of the symmetrically encrypted data may then be sent to a remote device using insecure communications.

  • Publication number: 20150325116
Abstract: A method includes generating an audio signal, generating a control signal that is configured to control a haptic feedback device that is incorporated into a device for delivering audio based on the audio signal to a user, and embedding the control signal in the audio signal by using a pseudorandom signal to form an encoded audio signal. Another method includes receiving a signal that includes an audio signal having an embedded control signal, recovering the control signal from the received signal by using a pseudorandom signal, using the recovered control signal to control a haptic feedback device that is incorporated into a device for delivering audio, recovering the audio signal from the received signal, and using the recovered audio signal to generate audio in the device for delivering audio. Systems perform similar steps, and non-transitory computer readable storage mediums each store one or more computer programs.

  • Patent number: 9185269
Abstract: A shift time monitoring section of a host terminal monitors a shift between the input timing of frame data from an imaging device and the ideal input timing for the frame data, the ideal input timing being obtained from the output frequency of a display. An operation cycle adjusting section transmits a request signal for adjusting the operation cycle per frame in the imaging device according to the magnitude of the shift in the input timing. An H-counter section of the imaging device counts the outputting of the horizontal synchronizing signal with a vertical synchronizing signal in the imaging device as a starting point, and generates a signal at a predetermined scanning line. A VSync adjusting counter section counts a pixel clock with the signal from the H-counter section as a starting point, and generates a vertical synchronization signal at a value set to the pixel clock.

  • Patent number: 9183683
Abstract: A system and method for accessing secured resources using a portable device. When a user with such a portable device is within close proximity to a locked door or other secured resource, a verification process can be automatically initiated on the device. The user verification could utilize all the input and sensor methods on the device. Once the identification process has successfully completed, an access code can be transmitted to the locked door or device via wired or wireless network. This allows for reduced electronics required at these locked doors and allows for more dynamic security measures.

  • Publication number: 20150317051
Abstract: When a user fast-forwards pages and there arises a necessity to display pages ahead of image data generating processing by a page image generating unit 114, a paging managing unit 112 of a viewing screen control section 110 culls pages whose image data is to be generated, and requests an image rendering unit 122 to display already generated preceding or succeeding pages as a dummy. A display region managing unit 116 requests the image rendering unit 122 to sequentially display specified display regions stored in a movement rule storage unit 118 according to advancing operation of the user. The advancing operation is started at a point in time that a finger in contact with a front touch pad 21 is removed. An advance notice operation of moving a display region by a minute amount in a direction in which a movement is intended to be performed is performed before the advancing operation.
