Abstract: The present technology relates to a receiving apparatus, a transmitting apparatus, and a data processing method which are capable of providing detailed information of emergency information that is to be announced in case of emergency. The receiving apparatus receives a digital broadcast signal, and performs a process with respect to an emergency information application for presenting detailed information of emergency information on the basis of control information that is included in the digital broadcast signal and that includes information about the detailed information of the emergency information which needs to be announced urgently. The present technology is applicable to a television receiver, for example.

Abstract: A recording apparatus for recording data on a recording medium having at least one recording layer, includes a loading unit and a recorder unit. On the loading unit, the recording medium is capable of being loaded. The recorder unit is configured to cause the at least one recording layer a physical change to collectively record a plurality of pieces of data on the at least one recording layer of the recording medium loaded on the loading unit, in a thickness direction of the at least one recording layer, such that the physical change of the at least one recording layer is capable of being detected at one time when the recording medium is reproduced.

Abstract: The present invention provides a recording method capable of reliably associating additional information for data of a decoding/reproduction unit with the decoding/reproduction unit for a case in which data of a read/write unit for a recording medium includes a plurality of aforementioned decoding/reproduction units. Time-series information is compressed before being recorded on the recording medium. Management information added to data of each decoding/reproduction unit of the compressed time-series information as management information for a decoding/reproduction process is also recorded on the recording medium. Additional information for data of a decoding/reproduction unit is also recorded on the recording medium by being associated with management information for a decoding/reproduction process of data of the decoding/reproduction unit.
