  • Patent number: 7308461
Abstract: In executing a variety of processing operations for contents data, such as reproducing the contents data, the time until booting the application to enable the operations is shortened. A database file for management of contents data is stored in a hard disc drive and the data for hard disc contents controller (hdcc) processing, formulated on the basis of the database (a data image of the file for hdcc processing) is then saved. Using this data for hdcc processing, the application executes the required processing for the contents data. If, depending on the results of the processing by the application, the registration processing for the database becomes needed, the registration processing for the data for hdcc processing is necessarily executed. By so doing, the data for hdcc processing is kept synchronized with the database file at all times.

  • Patent number: 7308508
Abstract: A function name, a variable name, a comment sentence, or the like included in a script includes redundancy and affects transmitting efficiency. By replacing the function name or variable name consisting of a relatively long character string with a shorter character string (for example, with one alphabetic character), the data size of the script is reduced. By further deleting comment sentences in the script, data size is also reduced.

  • Patent number: 7306751
Abstract: Crystalline superfine particles capable of emitting light depending upon a time-rate-of-change of a stress and controlled in grain size in the range from 5 nm to 100 nm are complexed with another material such as resin. The crystalline superfine particles are manufactured by using aggregates of molecules, i.e. inverted micelles, which orient hydrophilic groups of surfactant molecules inward and hydrophobic groups outward in a nonpolar solvent and which contain metal ions of a metal for forming the crystalline superfine particles dissolved in water inside the inverted micelles. Alternatively, they are manufactured by using inverted micelles enveloping precursor superfine particles, in which precursor superfine particles are enveloped in water inside the inverted micelles. The crystalline superfine particles are excellent in dispersibility in another material to be complexed, enhanced in emission efficiency and usable to make a transparent stress emission material.

  • Patent number: 7308637
Abstract: A stable system is provided wherein the influence of disturbance or the like can be reduced. First error correcting code units and second error correcting code units are used, and thereby a wider range of random errors and burst errors are made correctable to avoid retry operation. Thus, stable data reproduction is carried out without degrading transfer rate. Further, the constitution of error correcting blocks is set so that when a head is moved to some track during seek operation, a sector having the second error correcting code recorded therein is the first sector to be read.
