Abstract: A protective cover is placed over a rack of cathode ray tube components to prevent contamination of the components and/or moisture damage to the components. Some cathode ray tube components, particularly funnels, are stockpiled so that assembly lines can be kept running even if the supply of the component becomes temporarily exhausted. However, these stockpiled funnels must be protected while in storage. The protective cover described herein can be fastened in place around a rack or pallet containing a stockpile of funnels. The protective cover can also incorporate moisture-absorbent elements to prevent moisture damage to the stockpiled funnels.

Abstract: A loading device for a disc-shaped recording medium, such as an optical disc, includes a recording/reproducing unit, a loading member, a transport mechanism, a control mechanism and a chuck mechanism. The recording/reproducing unit has a rotating driving mechanism for rotationally driving the disc-shaped recording medium and a head for recording and/or reproducing information signals on or from the disc-shaped recording medium. The loading member is arranged facing the recording/reproducing unit on the chassis for movement along the chassis surface. The transport mechanism transports the disc-shaped recording medium introduced into the apparatus as far as the recording/reproducing unit. The control mechanism releases the disc transport operation by the transport mechanism by the loading member being moved on the chassis.
