Abstract: A device may include processing logic to obtain an image file including orientation information indicating a first orientation in which an image is to be displayed; detect, in the image, at least one human face; and modify the orientation information to re-orient the image based on the detected at least one human face.
Abstract: A noise reduction system including an audio-visual user interface combines visual features extracted from a digital video sequence with audio features extracted from an analog audio sequence. The digital video sequence may show the face of a speaker, and the analog audio sequence may include background noise in an environment of said speaker. Audio sequence detection means are used to detect said analog audio sequence, and audio feature extraction and analysis means are used to analyze said analog audio sequence and extract said audio features therefrom. Video sequence detection means are used to detect said video sequence, and visual feature extraction and analysis means are used to analyze the detected video sequence and extract said visual features therefrom. A noise reduction circuit is configured to separate the speaker's voice from said background noise based on a combination of derived speech characteristics and output a speech activity indication signal.
Abstract: A mechanical rotation and electrical interface device is provided in a portable electronic device. The interface device includes a hinge having a single signal connection in its interior between a first and a second part of the portable electronic device, a first processing unit connected to the hinge and to a number of parallel conductors in the first part, where the first processing unit receives a number of parallel electrical signals generated in the first part, combines these into a single signal and transmits this single signal over the single signal connection, and a second processing unit connected to the hinge and to a number of parallel conductors provided in the second part, where the second processing unit receives the combined signal, splits it into a number of parallel signals and provides these to the parallel conductors provided in the second part.
Abstract: A method provides detecting a roaming operator by a mobile communications device, where the mobile communications device is associated with a home operator; receiving a data service, by the mobile communications device, provided by the roaming operator independent of the home operator; sending information, from the mobile communications device, to the roaming operator for the roaming operator to authenticate the mobile communications device with the home operator; and receiving a voice service, by the mobile communications device, provided by the roaming operator based on the authentication by the roaming operator of the mobile communications device with the home operator.
Abstract: A method may include sending personal network connection information from a mobile device to a guest device; sending authentication credentials from the mobile device to the guest device; receiving the authentication credentials in the personal network from the guest device; authenticating the guest device based on the authentication credentials; and granting access to the guest device to content stored in the personal network for a guest session.
