  • Publication number: 20210031915
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprising a battery holding portion configured to releasably hold a first battery to provide electrical power to the UAV, the battery holding portion being configured to hold the first battery in a position relative to a direction of travel of the UAV such that, upon the UAV encountering a second battery positioned in the path of travel of the UAV, the first battery receives a mechanical impulse from the second battery causing the first battery to be released from the battery holding portion and the second battery replaces the first battery to become held by the battery holding portion to provide electrical power to the UAV.

  • Publication number: 20200311898
Abstract: A method of storing images of a scene, including receiving an image of a scene, generating at least one image identifier of the image, which is indicative of content of the image, storing the at least one image identifier of the image in association with temporal information for that image in a first storage, determining a degree of similarity between content of the image and previous images which have been received based on a correspondence between the at least one image identifier of the image and the at least one images identifiers of the previous images in the first storage, and storing the at least one image identifier of subsequently received images in a second storage in association with temporal information corresponding to a first previous image when the determined degree of similarity between the image and the first previous image exceeds a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10788327
Abstract: An apparatus includes input circuitry and processor circuitry. The input circuitry is configured to receive, from a camera attached to a vehicle, a plurality of images as the vehicle travels along the track. The processor circuitry is configured to, for at least one of the plurality of captured images, perform feature recognition on the image, to assign an indicator to at least one recognised feature in the image indicative of a suitability of the at least one recognised feature for adjusting the position of the vehicle on the map. The processor circuitry is configured to, for each recognised feature in the image with the indicator, adjust the position of the vehicle on the map when the recognised feature is represented in the map of the track, and add a representation of the recognised feature to the map when the recognised feature is not represented in the map of the track.

  • Publication number: 20200051130
Abstract: A method of mapping an object to a location in a virtual space, the method comprising assigning to locations in the virtual space a prominence value representing the prominence of an object at the location when the virtual space is viewed by a user, the prominence value being assigned according to a distance from each location to a reference location in the virtual space and at least one physiological characteristic of a user, determining a purchase value for the locations in the virtual space representing a payment required to place an object at respective locations in the virtual space, the purchase value being determined at least according to the prominence value assigned to a respective location in the virtual space and in response to receiving the payment for a location in the virtual space, mapping the object to that location in the virtual space.
