Patent number: 11174729Abstract: Systems and methods for testing one or more closeable or fixed ports in a horizontal section of a well are provided. One of the systems comprises a jointed tubing string deployable by a service rig and a bottomhole assembly attached the jointed tubing string, the bottomhole assembly comprising a jet pump, a pressure sealing device, and an intake. The system may further include one or more of a shifting tool, a casing collar locator, an extension tubing, and an isolation device. The system draws fluid from the ports through the intake and the fluid may be tested as it flows through the buttonhole assembly and/or at surface. The isolation device may have a lower portion that is detachable from and re-attachable to the remaining components of the bottomhole assembly thereabove.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2018Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: Source Rock Energy Partners Inc.Inventors: Kelvin Falk, Brandon Yorgason, Matthew Thauberger, Nicholas Thauberger

Publication number: 20130084194Abstract: A jet pump, a jet pump data tool system, and method of use thereof. The jet pump includes a body having an intake, a first aperture, and a second aperture between the first aperture and the intake. A carrier is seated in the body and receivable in the first aperture. The carrier includes a venturi for drawing wellbore fluid from the intake into the venturi. A housing for a data tool extends from the carrier. The housing is in fluid communication with the intake for allowing wellbore fluid to be exposed to the data tool. The carrier is seatable in the body by flowing power fluid and the carrier into the first aperture. The carrier is retrievable from the body by flowing power fluid into the second aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2012Publication date: April 4, 2013Applicant: Source Rock Energy Partners Inc.Inventors: Kelvin Falk, Clint Mason
