  • Patent number: 9243630
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved segmented fluid end for high-pressure plunger pumps. One segmented fluid end includes one or more fluid end modules, each fluid end module including a body providing a plunger bore configured to receive a plunger therein and a discharge outlet in fluid communication with the plunger bore, wherein a pressurized working fluid may exit the body of each fluid end module via the discharge outlet, a discharge manifold having an elongate manifold body configured to be operatively coupled to each fluid end module, the manifold body providing a first end, a second end, a discharge bore extending between the first and second ends, and one or more discharge inlets that fluidly communicate with the discharge bore, and a ring joint gasket arranged between each discharge inlet of the discharge manifold and a corresponding discharge outlet of the one or more fluid end modules.

  • Patent number: 6209445
Abstract: The liner retainer assembly includes a cylinder that is mounted on a module of the fluid end of a pump. The cylinder has an aperture for receiving a liner and a retaining piston. A retaining nut is secured on the end of the retaining piston and engages one end of the liner. The retaining piston forms a fluid cavity and a spring cavity within the cylinder. The spring cavity houses a plurality of springs which bias the piston, retaining member, and liner towards the module, thus providing a resilient securing force. The fluid cavity communicates with a supply of hydraulic fluid for biasing the piston away from the module to relieve the springs. By pressurizing the fluid cavity, the springs are compressed to disengage the retaining member from the liner and allow the unthreading of the retaining member and then the removal of the liner.

  • Patent number: 4314688
Abstract: An improved gate valve for high fluid pressure applications has a housing with aligned inlet and outlet passages and a well intercepting those passages. A piston-type gate is slidably positioned in the well and movable by conventional means between an open position wherein it does not intercept the inlet and outlet passages and a closed position wherein it blocks those passages and seats against the bottom of the well. The gate is fitted with a special seal which includes a circular section seated in a circumferential groove in the gate located above the inlet and outlet passages and a pair of lengthwise sections extending from diametrically opposite locations on the circular section toward the end of the gate at opposite sides thereof, those sections being located transversely with respect to the valve inlet and outlet passages.
