Publication number: 20040245154Abstract: A vibrating screen assembly having a tubular frame. The tubular frame includes a pair of opposed tubular sides and a pair of opposed tubular ends. An upstanding lip extending from each side and extending from each end forms a rim enclosure. A ledge extends inwardly from the opposed sides. A perforated plate with a plurality of screen cloths thereon is positioned within the rim enclosure and secured to a planar surface of the frame. A slot in the tubular sides and tubular ends forms a continuous channel and an elastomeric gasket is press fit into the slot and held therein without adhesives or fasteners.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2004Publication date: December 9, 2004Applicant: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventors: Terry L. Baltzer, Russell Allen Riddle

Patent number: 6672459Abstract: An integrated terminal deck and spout assembly for a vibrating separator and a method of fabricating a terminal deck constructed such that the deck has a protruding tongue which extends out past the deck blank. The protruding tongue forms the bottom plate of the discharge spout. This reduces the number of parts necessary to assemble a terminal deck. It also provides a structurally stronger discharge spout than found in the prior art and reduces the time and labor necessary to assemble a terminal deck. This change in design also reduces fatigue cracking in the deck blank near the terminal deck discharge spout.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventor: James F. Nogalski

Patent number: 6543621Abstract: An integrated gasket and screen frame for a screen assembly for use with a vibrating shaker. The screen assembly includes a tubular frame having a top side and an under side. At least one screen cloth is affixed to the top side of the frame. A slot in the tubular frame has a width. An elastomeric gasket has at least a portion wider than the width of the slot so that the gasket may be press fit and mechanically locked into the slot and held therein.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2001Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventors: Terry L. Baltzer, Russell Allen Riddle

Patent number: 6439392Abstract: A vibrating screen assembly having a tubular frame. The tubular frame includes a pair of opposed tubular sides and a pair of opposed tubular ends. An upstanding lip extending from each side and extending from each end forms a rim enclosure. A ledge extends inwardly from the opposed sides. A plurality of tubular cross supports and the opposed tubular ends rest on the ledge and are connected to the opposed sides. A perforated plate with a plurality of screen cloths thereon is positioned within the rim enclosure and secured to a planar surface of the frame. One of the ends includes an extending overhang while the other end includes a lower recess so that an overhang from one screen assembly will mate with a recess from another screen assembly to form a liquid tight seal.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1999Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventor: Terry L. Baltzer

Patent number: 6305549Abstract: A vibrating screen assembly of dissimilar materials. A frame is composed of a first material having a coefficient of thermal expansion. At least one screen cloth is composed of a second material. A ratio of the coefficient of thermal expansion first material to the coefficient of thermal expansion of the second material is greater than one.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1999Date of Patent: October 23, 2001Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventors: Russell Allen Riddle, Terry L. Baltzer, Bill Howard

Patent number: 6269954Abstract: A seal for adjoining screen assemblies for vibrating machinery, where each screen assembly has a frame. The frame includes a planar surface. A perforated plate with a plurality of screen cloths thereon is secured to the planar surface of the frame. A first end of the frame has a seal shoulder. A second end of the frame has a seal bracket. The seal bracket of a first screen assembly engages a shoulder of a vibrating screen assembly to form a liquid seal between adjoining frames.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventor: Terry L. Baltzer

Patent number: 5967336Abstract: A vibrating screen assembly having a frame with a pair of opposed sides and a pair of opposed ends. The frame includes a planar surface and an upstanding lip extending vertically from the planar surface to form a rim enclosure. A leg extends downward vertically from the planar surface in a direction away from said lip. A ledge extends perpendicularly from the downward leg. A plurality of tubular cross supports rest on the ledge and are connected to the leg. A perforated plate with a plurality of screen cloths thereon is positioned within the rim enclosure and secured to the planar surface of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventors: Terry L. Baltzer, Robert E. Norman, Richard W. Von Drehle

Patent number: 5944197Abstract: A woven wire screen cloth having a plurality of parallel warp filaments intersected by a plurality of parallel shute filaments configured to enhance both conductance and screen life. A greater number of warp filaments are provided than shute filaments per given area. A plurality of rectangular openings are formed from the warp and shute filaments with each rectangular opening having a length and width. The length to width ratio of the rectangular openings is between approximately 2.7 to 2.8. The length of the rectangular openings to the diameter of the shute filaments is a ratio of between approximately 5.5 to 5.7. The screen cloth is calendared to assist in locking the intersections of the warp and shute filaments in place.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Southwestern Wire Cloth, Inc.Inventors: Terry L. Baltzer, Robert E. Norman
