  • Patent number: 6778177
Abstract: A method for rasterizing a graphic primitive (120) in a graphics system generates, starting from graphic primitive description data, pixel data for the graphic primitive, the graphics system comprising a memory which is divided up into a plurality of blocks (a, a+1, b, b+1) which are each associated with a predetermined one of a plurality of areas on a mapping screen (114). Each block of the plurality of blocks (a, a+1, b, b+1) is associated with a memory page in the memory. The method includes scanning the pixels associated with the graphic primitive (120) in one of the plurality of blocks (a) into which the graphic primitive extends, repeating the preceding steps until all of the pixels associated with the graphic primitive have been scanned in each of the plurality of blocks into which the graphic primitive extends, and outputting the pixel data.

  • Patent number: 6675283
Abstract: A device for a hierarchical connection of a plurality of functional units in a processor comprises a first connector with at least two inputs and an output, which is adapted for connecting one of the inputs to the output, a second connector with at least one input and an output, which is adapted for connecting the input to the output, and a buffer connected between the output of the second connector and the input of the first connector for buffering, for at least one clock cycle, a signal applicable to the at least one input of the second connector before H is forwarded to a further input of the first connector. The output of the first connector is connected to an input of a first functional unit. An output of a second functional unit is connected to a first input of the at least two Inputs of the first connector. The at least one input of the second connector is connected to a third functional unit.

  • Patent number: 6489958
Abstract: A device for the graphic representation on a display surface of an object defined by a plurality of triangles which are respectively specified by three points in homogeneous object coordinates comprises a device for transforming the homogeneous object coordinates of the plurality of triangles into homogeneous clip coordinates of a clip coordinate system with an observer standpoint located on an observation axis which is perpendicular to the display surface, a device for determining the position of the observer standpoint in relation to each of the plurality of triangles by determining the orientation of each triangle of the plurality of triangles in the clip coordinate system with repect to the observer standpoint using the homogeneous clip coordinates of the plurality of triangles, a device for marking the position of the observer standpoint in relation to each triangle of the plurality of triangles in association with the homogeneous object coordinates of the plurality of triangles, and a device for process
