  • Patent number: 10284308
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system including analog receive paths and analog transmit paths and signal processing equipment onboard a satellite, and methods for use therewith. For each of a plurality of the analog receive paths, a calibration signal is injected therein below a noise floor thereof, while the path is actively used to receive and condition an RF signal, and the calibration signal is extracted from the analog receive path after the signal has traveled through at least a portion of the path. The extracted calibration signal is compared to the injected calibration signal to determine gain and phase deviations caused by the path. Gain and phase characteristics of the analog receive paths are adjusted to compensate for different gain and phase deviations being caused by different paths. Similar techniques are used to compensate for different gain and phase deviations being caused by different analog transmit paths.

  • Patent number: 10281584
Abstract: A received Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum DSSS signal is processed by performing DSSS acquisition to obtain estimates of a frequency offset and a spreading code phase, sequentially obtaining, for each one of a plurality of segments of a received DSSS signal, a correlation function between the DSSS signal segment and a replica of a spreading code by using a Time and Frequency Transform based correlation method, the estimated frequency and the spreading code phase, and performing DSSS carrier tracking by tracking the phase of a correlation peak in the obtained correlation functions, and applying phase corrections to the obtained correlation functions to provide fine Doppler compensation. The time and frequency transform based correlation method involves, for each segment of the received DSSS signal, obtaining a plurality of samples and transforming the samples from the time domain to the frequency domain.

Abstract: The present invention provides a Voigt line shape fitting method, including step 1: Calculate a Gauss line shape function and a Lorentz line shape function, and calculate a Voigt line shape function. Step 2: For determined line shape parameters to be fitted, calculate partial derivatives of the Voigt line shape function with respect to the parameters, convert a partial derivative of the Voigt line shape function with respect to a parameter into a partial derivative of the Gauss line shape function or the Lorentz line shape function with respect to the parameter. Step 3: Substitute the Voigt line shape function and the partial derivative of the Voigt line shape function with respect to the parameter to be fitted, into a least squares algorithm step, perform least squares fitting calculation, and determine whether to terminate the least squares fitting calculation or return to step 1 to perform next iterative calculation.
