Patent number: 5671855Abstract: A high strength industrial storage tank is provided. The tank includes a pair of opposed sidewalls, a pair of opposed end walls, each end wall interconnecting the sidewalls, and a floor connected to the sidewalls and the end walls. Each of the sidewalls and end walls includes a series of alternating vertically extending outer members and vertically extending grooves. Each groove extends toward the interior of the tank and includes a bottom and two sides. Each groove further includes an inner arcuate portion that is arched toward the interior of the tank and has a substantially constant radius of from about 3.0 to about 4.5 inches. The structure of the sidewalls makes it relatively easy to clean the tank and apply and maintain paint and other protective coatings on the surfaces of the tank. The tank can optionally include structure that makes it suitable for storing liquids and other fluids and/or structure that makes it compatible with roll-off transport trucks.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1996Date of Patent: September 30, 1997Assignee: Spade Leasing, Inc.Inventors: Eddy Norman, Jr., Billy Steve Brown

Patent number: 5273180Abstract: A tank leakage containment system which includes an open-topped containment tank of rectangular parallelepiped configuration, thus having a bottom, parallel end walls and parallel side walls. A pair of spaced saddle subassemblies project upwardly from the bottom wall and support a cylindrical fluid storage tank. The cylindrical storage tank has a capacity substantially less than the capacity of the open-topped containment tank, and lifting lugs are secured to the exposed upper side of the storage tank. The containment tank has skids mounted on the lower side thereof to facilitate movement across the ground, and has a towing bar extending across at least one end thereof.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1993Date of Patent: December 28, 1993Assignee: Spade Leasing, Inc.Inventor: Lonnie B. Whatley, Jr.

Patent number: 5213367Abstract: A single step, bi-level portable storage tank which includes contiguous forward and rear generally rectangular liquid storage sections each having side walls and having a common bottom wall, the forward storage section having a lower roof than the roof of the rear storage section. A forwardly facing break wall joins the forward end of the roof of the rear storage section to the rear of the roof of the forward storage section at a location which is about one-third of the distance from the forward end of the tank to the rear end thereof. A ladder and stairway at the forward end of the storage tank accesses a rearwardly extending walkway which crosses the roof of the forward storage section to the break wall.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1992Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: Spade Leasing, Inc.Inventors: Eddy Norman, Jr., Billy S. Patent number: 5058924Abstract: A transport tank for storing and dispensing a liquid which includes a forward liquid compartment and a rearwardly positioned equipment storage compartment. The liquid compartment is of substantially right parallelepiped configuration. The equipment storage compartment is of inverted L-shaped configuration and includes a forwardly extending upper portion which projects above the level of the roof of the liquid compartment. This configuration allows the tank to be more utilitarian without in any way interfering with its over-the-road transport when it is empty. The equipment storage compartment has a rear wall, and is accessed by at least one door in the rear wall. It is separated from the liquid storage compartment by a vertically extending rear partition wall and a horizontally extending shelf member which extends between and interconnects the rear partition wall and the roof of the liquid compartment.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1990Date of Patent: October 22, 1991Assignee: Spade Leasing, Inc.Inventor: Lonnie B. Whatley, Jr.

Patent number: 5004269Abstract: A mobile fluid storage tank having a pair of generally trapezoidally-shaped, substantially parallel side walls, a bottom wall, a back wall and a forward wall extending substantially parallel to the back wall. A stepped top wall slopes downwardly from a location spaced forwardly from near the back wall toward the forward wall, and defines a plurality of transversely extending steps which individually include a substantially horizontally extending step surface which extends substantially parallel to the bottom wall. A plurality of longitudinally extending rub bars or diverter rods extend from a position near the forward wall rearwardly across the edges of the steps to divert and deflect limbs and the like away from the steps.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1989Date of Patent: April 2, 1991Assignee: Spade leasing, Inc.Inventor: J.
