  • Patent number: 4938643
Abstract: A self-propelled rail transport vehicle for carrying a hydraulic crawler crane is provided. The transport vehicle is designed to normally travel along the rails of a track and allow crane operation either from the transport or from a ground off-loaded position. The crane may be delivered and loaded on and off the transport at any convenient ground rail location, and when taken off the transport, may be used to lift the transport from the tracks, so as to allow trains to pass unobstructed. The crane may then be used to lift the transport back on the track after which the crane may be loaded onto the transport. Once the job at a site is complete, the carrier and crane may be returned to its original location by rail or by truck. A latching mechanism is located in the center of the carrier deck of the transport. The latching mechanism is adapted to engage with a retractable pin mounted to the underside of the car body of the crane.

  • Patent number: 4289293
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/US79/00707 Sec. 371 Date Sept. 7, 1979 Sec. 102(e) Date Sept. 7, 1979 PCT Filed Sept. 7, 1979 PCT Pub. No. WO80/00673 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 17, 1980A combination bed concrete casting apparatus (20, 122 or 200) which allows either a single relatively wider elongated slab (116 or 200) or at least two relatively narrower elongated slabs (46 and 48 or 206 and 208) to be manufactured. A casting bed is divided longitudinally along the bottom wall into sections (34 and 36 or 202 and 204) which are movable transversely relative to each other. An elongate removable intermediate form (44 or 214) is positionable between the casting bed sections in a generally parallel relationship with the side form walls to form an intermediate wall. When it is desired to cast a single concrete member (116 or 200) extending all the way from one side form wall to the other, the intermediate form (44 or 214) is removed and the casting bed sections are moved closely adjacent one another.

  • Patent number: 4004874
Abstract: Concrete structural members are cast in a metal mold form which comprises side members closed off by a horizontally extending resilient pallet. The side members have affixed thereto at their lower ends adjustable swivel arm actuating mechanisms adapted to flex the side members laterally away from one another to enable stripping of the cast member from the form. The resilient pallet forms the bottom surface of the mold form and etablishes a seal to prevent slurry leakage. The pallet is supported by a roller transfer assembly that enables the cast member to be transported to another operating station after the cast member has been stripped from the form. The transfer assembly is adjustable in height by means of a swing arm assembly which in addition to setting the depth of the casting also causes the cast member to be elevated clear of the form to enable it to be removed therefrom.
