  • Patent number: 10690132
Abstract: A high or ultra high performance liquid chromatography pump has a plunger rod extending in an axial direction into a pump chamber through a plunger passage. The plunger rod is reciprocally movable in the axial direction into the pump chamber and back. An outlet channel extends through the pump head between an outlet port and the pump chamber and an inlet channel extends through the pump head between an inlet port and the pump chamber. The pump head has a pump head block and a pressure sensor body. A tubular portion of the pump head block projects into the pressure sensor body. The outlet channel has at least one diversion conduit portion at least partially bounded by the tubular portion of the pump head block, the diversion conduit portion of the outlet channel extending from said pump chamber in said axial direction.

  • Patent number: 9207151
Abstract: A method for desorption of a blood sample from a dried blood spot on a medical test sheet, for the purpose of biomedical analysis, comprises the steps of: interposing the test sheet inbetween first and second clamping heads; clamping the first and the second clamping heads onto the interposed test sheet; and flushing a desorption area of the clamped test sheet with a sample elution fluid. The clamping heads are transmitting compressive forces to parts of the test sheet. The compressive forces create an imprinted sealing area of the test sheet, which imprinted sealing area has a closed loop shape surrounding a desorption area of the test sheet. The desorption area is contained in a space enveloped by first and second outer surfaces of the first and second clamping heads, respectively, and sealed by the imprinted sealing area.

  • Patent number: 9110072
Abstract: An assembly of a cartridge and a cartridge clamp is disclosed. The cartridge has a cartridge body bounding a passage extending from a first end face to a second end face of the cartridge body. The cartridge clamp has a first and second clamping jaw comprising a first and second clamping face, respectively. A first and a second conduit are connected to the first and second clamping jaw, respectively. Said cartridge clamp is adapted for clamping said cartridge in-between the first and the second clamping face and for forming a closed circuit composed of the first conduit, the passage and the second conduit during clamping. Each clamping face has a ring-shaped protrusion extending around the end aperture of the respective conduit. The cartridge body is completely made of PEEK and each ring-shaped protrusion has a contact end face.

  • Patent number: 8585970
Abstract: A flow through cartridge for solid phase extraction of an analyte from a liquid has a cartridge body bounding a passage for retaining a sorbent. The passage extends from a first end face to a second end face, opposite the first end face of the cartridge body. The cartridge body is composed of a core of a first material extending around the passage and sealing rings of a second material, extending around an axis of the passage at the first and second end faces. Surface portions of the sealing rings constituting surface portions of the first and second end faces. The first material is stronger and stiffer than the second material.

  • Patent number: 8322197
Abstract: Method for injecting a liquid sample in an HPLC analyzing device, using an apparatus which comprises a first liquid circuit, a second liquid circuit, a valve assembly of the stator/rotor type, and a sample loop. In a first and a second valve position, respectively, the sample loop is either part of the first or of the second circuit, respectively. During the switching of the valve assembly from the second valve position into the first valve position, the valve assembly automatically and temporarily assumes an intermediate valve position in which the sample loop is automatically decompressed via a fourth connection chamber and a third valve outlet. In that intermediate valve position the sample loop is neither part of the first circuit nor part of the second circuit.
