  • Patent number: 10616294
Abstract: A system and a method for media streaming from multiple sources are disclosed. A content requesting client device accesses a server to receive a list of available sources that may include multiple Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and independent servers. Based on a pre-set criteria, such as the source delivery performance and cost, the client device partitions the content into parts, allocates a source to each part, and simultaneously receives media streams of the content parts from the allocated sources. The server may be a Video-on-Demand (VOD) server, and the content may be a single file of a video data, such as a movie. The delivery performance of the used sources is measured during the streaming for updating the partition or the allocation. The updated measured performance may be stored locally at the client device, or at a server for use by other clients. The client actions may be implemented as a client-side script.

  • Patent number: 10523788
Abstract: A system designed for increasing network communication speed for users, while lowering network congestion for content owners and ISPs. The system employs network elements including an acceleration server, clients, agents, and peers, where communication requests generated by applications are intercepted by the client on the same machine. The IP address of the server in the communication request is transmitted to the acceleration server, which provides a list of agents to use for this IP address. The communication request is sent to the agents. One or more of the agents respond with a list of peers that have previously seen some or all of the content which is the response to this request (after checking whether this data is still valid).

  • Patent number: 10387316
Abstract: A method for increasing storage space in a system containing a block data storage device, a memory, and a processor is provided. Generally, the processor is configured by the memory to tag metadata of a data block of the block storage device indicating the block as free, used, or semifree. The free tag indicates the data block is available to the system for storing data when needed, the used tag indicates the data block contains application data, and the semifree tag indicates the data block contains cache data and is available to the system for storing application data type if no blocks marked with the free tag are available to the system.

  • Patent number: 10213752
Abstract: A system and a method for the production and provision of CO2 gas are disclosed. A sealable chamber is equipped with heating means and when a CO2 carrier material, such as sodium bicarbonate is placed in it and heated to its decomposition temperature CO2 gas is released. The released gas is conveyed into liquid within a container and when the pressure of the gas in the container raises more and more CO2 gas is dissolved. The heating may be done by conduction mechanism, a microwave heating mechanism or by induction mechanism. The sodium bicarbonate or any other material including carbon dioxide may be disposed in powder, solid, suspension, emulsion, solution or wet powder form. It may be disposed in thin envelope case.

  • Publication number: 20180144632
Abstract: A parking system includes a vehicle database, a spot database, a parking event and reservation handler and a violation system. The vehicle database stores vehicle attribute(s). The spot database stores details and attributes of parking spots (on-street and off-street) of a regional authority. The details include a parking space identifier and attribute(s) corresponding to vehicle attribute(s). The spot database enables editing of the spot details and attributes by owners (e.g. the regional authority, lot and private owners) and of parking schemes of groups of spots by the regional authority. The handler receives parking requests which include a destination for a specified vehicle, determines parking spots which are available within a vicinity of a destination and which match the attribute(s) of the vehicle, and reserves a driver's selection of one of parking spots. The violation system receives violation reports from drivers reporting that the reserved parking spot is occupied.
