Abstract: Disclosed herein are method and system aspects for translating between a sign language and a target language and presenting such translations. For example, a method receives input language data and translates the input language data into sign language grammar. The method retrieves phonetic representations that correspond to the sign language grammar from a sign language database and generates coordinates from the phonetic representations using a generative network. The phonetic representations are digital representations of individual signs created through manual input of body configuration information corresponding to the individual signs. Further, the method renders an avatar that moves between the coordinates. In another example, a bidirectional communication system allows for realtime communication between a signing entity and a non-signing entity.

Abstract: A real time sign language recognition method that allows Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to sign into any apparatus with a camera to extract target information (such as a translation in a target language) is proposed.
Abstract: A method of transmitting a multimedia file over a network includes receiving, from a user, a user contact and a recipient address which can be received though at least one of a SMS message, an e-mail message, an Internet form or an HTTP protocol message. The user inputs the information and transmits it to the system. Once the information is received, the system contacts the user at the user contact and the user is prompted to record a message. The message is recorded as a multimedia file and, once recorded, the system transmits the multimedia file to the recipient address. The system can send an e-mail to the recipient address attaching the multimedia file, provide a link to download or stream the multimedia file, provide a callback telephone number to play the multimedia file over a telephone, and send the multimedia file to a cellular telephone as a message.

Abstract: A device, for holding a garment waistband, has a flat, elongated elastic band stretchable across two belt loops, and a pair of fastener components formed by metal wire bent to form a back bar for the elastic-band-mounting end and a hook-loop fastener end for hooking onto a post member mounted to the elastic band. The back bar is formed in a thin channel shape defining a concave cross-sectional gap with a thickness such that it can be seated around the exposed length of the belt loop and clasp it by its thickness. The device provides the wearer with a slimmer profile and is more comfortable to wear than a waist-length belt. The back bar may be formed with bar halves separated by a cut-away gap to allow the elastic band to be sleeved on and off, to interchange elastic bands and/or other decorative fastener components.
