Abstract: A blade set for hair clippers which has a lower fixed blade, an upper fixed blade, a movable blade assembly and a blade holder. The movable blade assembly is flat and extends in a plane parallel to a lengthwise plane of the upper fixed blade and a lengthwise plane of the lower fixed blade and disposed in between the lower fixed blade and the upper fixed blade in such a way that a user's skin is protected from getting injured by the movable blade assembly. A third toothed front edge is provided at a front end of the movable blade assembly, a lower portion of which cooperates with an upper portion of the first toothed front edge to define a first cutting surface, and an upper portion of which cooperates with a lower portion of the second toothed front edge to define a second cutting surface.

Abstract: A trimmer mechanism suitable for use in a hair trimmer and hair trimmer attachment is described. The trimmer mechanism allows for a linearly reciprocating motion to be used to obtain a close trim or shave. The trimmer mechanism includes two sets of blades that are moveable relative to each other to define a pair of cutting zones. One set of blades provides a coarse trim, while the following set of blades provides a finer trim. Also provides is a blade arrangement and a method of manufacture of a blade arrangement.

The spring is disposed with a coiled portion secured on the spring holder, a first portion which exerts pressure upon the movable blade holder to bias the movable blade towards the stationary blade and a second portion which biases the spring holder towards a retracted position. The push lever is driven to move forward or backward by an external force, and a front end of the push lever abuts against the rear end of the spring holder in such a way to push the spring holder forward when the push lever is driven forward, and when the push lever is driven backward, the spring holder is biased by the spring to retract until the rear end thereof abuts against the push lever.
