    Abstract: A mechanical joint for interconnecting rail members having a male end on one of the rail members, a female end on the other rail member, and an annular collar for constraining longitudinal movement. The male member has an external circumferential groove for receiving the annular collar. The female end has an internal circumferential groove which aligns with both the annular collar and the external circumferential groove on the male end.
