  • Patent number: 5836597
Abstract: A shim and method for using the same for adjusting camber and/or toe of a wheel assembly wherein first and second tapered annular shims are coupled together to permit relative rotation therebetween and each of the first and second tapered annular shims have visible indicia thereon. A chart is consulted to obtain an indicium on the first tapered annular shim that is to be aligned with an indicium on the second tapered annular shim so that the first and second tapered annular shims may be rotated to align the indicium on each shim so that the aligned indicia may be placed in the wheel assembly at a reference point on the wheel assembly to make the required camber and/or toe adjustments.

  • Patent number: 5817860
Abstract: A polyisocyanate prepolymer composition is comprised of the reaction product of (a) a polyisocyanate having an average functionality of at least 2 and containing at least about 20 percent by weight of a diisocyanate monomer, (b) a monohydric alcohol and (c) a polyol having an average hydroxyl functionality of at least about 1.8 to at most about 3.2 wherein the prepolymer composition has (i) an amount of isocyanate groups by weight sufficient to react with water in the absence of a supplemental blowing agent to make a foam, (ii) at most about 10.0 percent by weight of the diisocyanate monomer and (iii) an amount of the polyisocyanate that is capped by the monohydric alcohol sufficient to prevent gelling of the prepolymer composition. The prepolymer composition may be reacted with water to form a polyurethane foam.

  • Patent number: 5816553
Abstract: A holder for paper rolls includes a base with a plate having a receiver and a stem for extending through the base plate receiver. The stem is releasably retained in the base plate receiver by an annular snap ring in the base plate receiver engaging an annular groove in the stem. A mounting system for mounting the base on a structure includes either screw anchors and screws or an adhesive fastener such as two-sided tape.

  • Patent number: 5753309
Abstract: A composition for reducing a copper oxide layer to metallic copper so as to facilitate bonding a resin to the metallic copper is disclosed. The composition is an aqueous reducing solution containing a cyclic borane compound. Examples of such cyclic borane compounds include those having nitrogen or sulfur as a ring-forming members, such as morpholine borane, piperidine borane, pyridine borane, piperazine borane, 2,6-Iutidine borane, 4-methylmorpholine borane, and 1,4-oxathiane borane, and also N,N-diethylaniline borane.

  • Patent number: 5746357
Abstract: The invention is a plunger useful in extruding or dispensing viscous material which comprises a thin disc of a material which is capable of deforming when subjected to back pressure during use. The edge of the disc has a circular shape and a cylindrical lip attached to the edge of the disc, which lip is disposed perpendicular to the edge of the disc. The disc has a face and a back surface located on opposite sides of the sheet. The disc also has a symmetrical convex portion which protrudes beyond the plane defined by the edge of the disc in the direction of the face and the peak of the convex portion disposed in the center of the disc. The disc further comprises a symmetrical concave portion which protrudes beyond the plane defined by the edge of the disc in the direction of the back surface. The concave portion of the disc surrounds the convex portion of the disc and the convex portion starts at the bottom of the concave portion.

  • Patent number: 5741383
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for bonding a vehicle window to a vehicle flange comprising the sequential steps of:a) applying a liquid masking composition to a vehicle flange,b) painting the vehicle, and drying or curing the liquid masking composition sufficiently to form a strippable mask;c) removing the mask from the flange; andd) adhesively bonding the vehicle window to the vehicle flange. Such a masking process advantageously eliminates the need for the use of solvent-based primers normally used to prime a painted vehicle flange, and provides a mask which is more easily applied and removed from the flange than masking means which initially comprise a solid substance.

  • Patent number: 5738013
Abstract: Provided is a media-ink jet fluid marking material set which comprises a media comprising a support with a hydrophilic receiving layer together with an ink jet fluid marking material which comprises a liquid carrier medium and at least one organic or transition metal complex reactive component. Upon ink jet printing and subsequent exposure to an energy source, an effective amount of an olcophilic, water-insoluble, and substantially non-metallic pattern is achieved on the hydrophilic media. Such a media-ink jet fluid marking material set can be advantageously used in the manufacture of lithographic printing plates, and provides many advantages in the manufacture of durable and water-insoluble imaging elements.
