  • Patent number: 11603943
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a self-sealing breakaway valve having a poppet-style design. The breakaway valve may be made from two body portions coupled together by one or more frangible fasteners in order to form a flow path through the breakaway valve. Each body portion may include a valve mechanism responsive to separation of the two body portions from each other to cause closure of the flow path in the respective body portion. The valve mechanisms may be releasably coupled together by a coupling key configured to restrict movement of each valve mechanism, so that the flow path within the breakaway valve remains open. Upon separation of the two body portions from each other, the coupling key may be released from the valve mechanisms allowing for closure of the flow path by the valve mechanisms thereby preventing fluid leakage from the breakaway valve.

Abstract: A temporary hair color composition and a method of using this color composition. The temporary hair color composition is in a form suitable for application to hair and includes water, a co-solvent, a gelling agent selected from a soap gelling agent and a gellan gum gelling agent, and a coloring agent. The color composition results in a that may by applied using pressure and which does not drip. As such, the color composition may be easily applied. The color compositions may be used such that the same color results even though the color of the underlying substrate is substantially different.

  • Patent number: 6637441
Abstract: A hair wrapping device and method which includes a housing and a motor contained within the housing. A cover is rotatably mounted to the housing and is driven by the motor. A spool for receiving cord is mounted for rotational movement with the cover. The cord is held for rotation with the cover. The cover has an aperture to thread a lock of hair and the cord therethrough. Rotation of the cover by the motor causes rotation of the cord around the lock of hair, thereby wrapping the hair with the cord.

  • Patent number: 6499491
Abstract: A hair styling device for twirling locks of hair together including a main body, and at least two hair grabbers for respectively grabbing separate locks of hair. Each of the hair grabbers is connected to respective hair twisters, and each of the hair twisters rotates respective locks of hair to form twists of hair. The device further comprises a hair twist rotator body connected to each of the hair grabbers. The hair twist rotator body is connected to and rotatable relative to the main body. Rotation of the hair twist rotator body cables the twists of hair to form a cord of hair. The hair grabbers are substantially stationary relative to the hair twist rotator when the hair twist rotator rotates relative to the main body.

  • Patent number: 4980675
Abstract: By providing pressure-responsive switch-actuation means constructed for being substantially unaffected by temperature changes, a pressure sensor is attained which is capable of monitoring pressure levels with precision, regardless of the ambient temperature to which the system is subjected. By employing temperature insensitive material to effectively compensate for temperature changes incurred by the remaining sensor components, the actuation control assembly of the sensor is capable of achieving precision monitoring of desired pressure levels regardless of changes in the ambient temperature to which the monitor assembly is exposed. In one preferred embodiment, the pressure sensor of the present invention incorporates a uniquely constructed, machined bellows which further enhances and provides precision pressure sensing capabilities.
