Abstract: A hair styling system includes a driver module and a plurality of interchangeably receivable styling modules. The driver module includes a holder configured to interchangeably receive a plurality of styling modules, each configured to perform at least one styling operation, a driver gear positioned adjacent to the holder, and a power module comprising a motor configured to drive the driver gear in a first direction and a second direction. The plurality of interchangeably receivable styling modules each include a styling module gear configured to operatively engage the driver gear and be rotatable thereby to perform at least one styling operation distinguishable from a styling operation performed by at least one other styling module.

Abstract: A hair coloring applicator (10) for applying a hair coloring material to one or more strands of hair using a rotating brush (12). The hair coloring applicator may include a housing (24) and a supply of hair coloring material (44) positioned so as to contact the brush (12). The housing (24) may include at least one opening for receiving at least one strand of hair and placing the at least one strand of hair in contact with the brush (12). The hair coloring applicator (10) may simultaneously apply one or more colors of hair coloring material (44) to strands of hair. The brush (12) may include bristles, a napped material, and/or an absorbent material.

The device includes a support, and a solid or semi-solid hair coloring composition fixedly disposed on the support. The solid or semi-solid hair coloring composition includes a soap gelling agent such that the hair coloring composition retains its shape, and can be provided as a block having a predefined shape. These devices are not attendant with dripping as has been associated with prior art hair color applicators.

The color compositions may be used such that the same color results even though the color of the underlying substrate is substantially different.

Abstract: A hair wrapping device and method which includes a housing and a motor contained within the housing. A cover is rotatably mounted to the housing and is driven by the motor. A spool for receiving cord is mounted for rotational movement with the cover. The cord is held for rotation with the cover. The cover has an aperture to thread a lock of hair and the cord therethrough. Rotation of the cover by the motor causes rotation of the cord around the lock of hair, thereby wrapping the hair with the cord.
