Abstract: An endoscopic video camera drape for completely segregating a video camera lens and camera assembly from an attached endoscopic lens assembly. The video camera is attached to a coupling. The coupling is shaped to hold a flared end of an endoscope. The drape has a conventional elongated flexible covering for covering the camera body and at least a portion of the cable of the camera. An optically transparent, flexible and tough polymeric film is attached in an airtight manner to the open end of the elongated flexible covering. The optically transparent bag is then placed over the coupling and is capable of receiving an endoscope and providing a transparent window between the video camera and endoscope without having to center a conventional rigid window.Preferably the polymeric film bag is made from coextruded, biaxially oriented polypropylene film.

Abstract: A disposable dialysis apparatus suspended in a dialysate solution. The dialysis apparatus has a tubular membrane which is opened at the top and bottom. A closed base member and collar seals the bottom of the tubular membrane. An open upper member and collar is sealed to the top of the tubular membrane, and a cap may be affixed to the top of the open upper member to seal the contents.

Abstract: A device for concentrating liquid specimens and the process of using the device. The device has a receptacle containing a membrane. The sample to be concentrated is placed in the receptacle on the upper surface of the membrane. A piston is then screwed down toward the upper surface of the membrane increasing the pressure above the membrane. The process for using the device involves supporting the device at a small angle from the vertical so that once the specimen has been concentrated to a given volume, the tilted membrane is exposed allowing air to reach the membrane and equalizing the pressure thereby rapidly decreasing any further concentration.

Abstract: A tissue pulverizer for pulverizing specimens of living tissues for facilitating chemical testing and the like. The pulverizer has a base, a guide member for emptying into a receiving tube and an elongated pestle member. The parts are cooled with liquid nitrogen and the specimen inserted, covered with the cooled pestle and frozen. The pestle member is then struck with a hammer to pulverize the frozen sample.

Abstract: A multi-part assembly held together by a clamp. Two or more parts are held together by a clamp which fits into two grooves formed in the outer surface of a part to be clamped. The clamp has a bail which surrounds the clamped parts, and a flexible arm holds one of the parts and the bail holds the other of the parts.

Abstract: A vacuum filter funnel useful for separating solids from liquids. The funnel has a vacuum intake member which forms an airtight seal with a filtrate container, and also forms an airtight seal with an upper funnel member which has a perforated bottom. A threaded sleeve member fits within the upper funnel member and assists in holding the filter medium above the perforated bottom.

Abstract: A protein concentrator having a reservoir for holding a protein solution and a membrane positioned within the protein solution through which a portion of the solution passes. The membrane is held in the walls of a container assembly and a water soluble polymer is located on one side of the membrane to increase the concentration gradient through the membrane for concentrating the solution.
