Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulating body and a number of terminal groups. The insulating body includes a mating slot, a first notch and a second notch. The first notch and the second notch are symmetrically arranged on opposite sides of the mating slot. The terminal groups include a first conductive terminal, a second conductive terminal, a third conductive terminal and a fourth conductive terminal. Each conductive terminals includes a mating portion extending into the mating slot. With this arrangement, relatively more terminal groups can be provided, which is beneficial to improve the speed of data transmission. A connector assembly having the electrical connector is also disclosed.

Abstract: An electrical connector comprises an insulating body, a number of conductive terminals, and a metal shielding shell. The insulating body comprises a tongue plate. Each conductive terminal comprises a mating portion exposed to the tongue plate. The metal shielding shell at least partially encloses the tongue plate. The metal shielding shell comprises a receiving space for receiving a mating connector. The electrical connector also comprises a metal fixed shell expanding outwardly. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure shortens the length of the metal shielding shell. After the metal shielding shell is installed on the device shell, it will not be obviously observed from the outside so as to improve the appearance. Besides, the shielding effect is improved by providing the metal fixed shell supported on the device shell. The present disclosure also discloses an electrical connector assembly having the electrical connector.

The fixed portion of each of the first signal terminals and the fixed portion of each of the first ground terminals is in the base, and the contact portion of each of the first signal terminals and the contact portion of each of the first ground terminals are extending to the tongue plate and exposed from the tongue plate. The conductive shielding member is in the insulated body, and the conductive shielding member is near but not in contact with the first terminal set.

The first signal terminal and the ground terminal are respectively provided with a first contact portion and a ground contact portion. The first insulating block and the insulation block are provided with through holes communicating with each other. The shielding member is inserted in the through holes to be coupled with the ground terminal.

The elastic arm is provided with a contact portion protruding into the insertion slot. The adjusting element is installed in the installation slot and used to adjust an electrical property. The adjusting element does not contact the adjacent signal terminals nor the adjacent ground terminals. A distance between the adjusting element and the adjacent ground terminals is smaller than a distance between the adjusting element and the adjacent signal terminals.
