  • Patent number: 10520278
Abstract: A shockwave impulse disruptor system for use in an underwater firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore, a muzzle, and at least one barrel port. A housing is external to the bore and defines at least a first gas expansion chamber. The expansion chamber is in fluid communication with the barrel port and has at least one exhaust port. The barrel bore and expansion chamber are flooded when underwater. Propellant gases that push a projectile through the bore are vented through the barrel port to force water from the expansion chamber through the exhaust port and to vent propellant gases. This delays the release of gases to surrounding water and reduces the amount of gas expelled through the muzzle.

  • Patent number: 9879933
Abstract: Disclosed is an integral firearm sound suppressor, comprising a barrel, a first tube, and interior connector, a baffle tube, and at least one baffle. The barrel has an axial bore, a chamber end, and a muzzle end. The chamber end is attachable to a receiver by the barrel nut. The first tube extends forwardly of the barrel nut to define an annular first chamber at least partially surrounding the barrel and having a closed forward end. The barrel has at least one port providing fluid communication between the bore and the first chamber. The interior connector supports the muzzle end of the barrel. The baffle tube extends forwardly of the muzzle end of the barrel and has a forward end wall defining an exit opening. The at least one baffle is positioned in the baffle tube and spaced forward of the muzzle end of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 9557128
Abstract: Disclosed is a reversible safety selector switch for an AR15-type firearm including a control shaft and a control lever. The control shaft is pivotably mountable about an axis in a lower receiver and has a cam portion with first and second cam surfaces and a detent portion having a surface and first and second detent grooves with detent sockets at each end of each groove. The first detent groove extends circumferentially approximately 90 degrees along the surface and the second detent groove extending circumferentially less than 90 degrees along the surface. A control lever is connectable to an end of the control shaft and configured for manipulation outside the receiver by a user to axially rotate the control shaft.

  • Patent number: 9417024
Abstract: Disclosed is a muzzle device for use with a muzzle end of a firearm barrel. The muzzle device includes a body having a central passageway extending along a central axis and being mountable to the muzzle end of the firearm barrel. A plurality of circumferentially spaced ports are provided on the body and extend generally radially outward from the central axis and open to the central passageway to provide fluid communication between the central passageway and an ambient environment external of the body. The ports are configured to direct propulsion gases generally radially outward therethrough when the firearm is discharged. The body includes a right-side portion and a left-side portion defined by a vertically-oriented imaginary plane, the ports being provided on the body such that the right-side portion directs a greater volume of propulsion gases therethrough than the left-side portion when the firearm is discharged.

  • Patent number: 9410757
Abstract: A heat dissipating and strength enhancing cover for a firearm gas tube includes a wire helix formed of closely adjacent coils having an inner diameter sized to closely fit over and in contact with an exterior surface of a gas tube. The wire of the gas tube cover may be made of a Beryllium-Copper alloy and have sufficient flexibility to accommodate at least one bend in the gas tube. The ends of the gas tube cover may be formed to a substantially flat surface that is substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the helix and may include caps covering first and second ends of the gas tube cover. The caps may prevent rotation of the cover when installed. The cover may extend substantially between a gas block and means for mounting a barrel when installed.

  • Patent number: 9395137
Abstract: A flash-suppressing muzzle brake for a firearm has a body defining a substantially cylindrical inner chamber and an open front end. A conical element is received in the inner chamber and has an open front end and a rear end that defines a conical bore. A mounting element has threads adapted to mate with threads on the body and an interior surface that receives the front end of the conical element. A first flash chamber is situated at the rear end of the conical element and has circumferentially-spaced openings and a central passageway providing fluid communication between the first flash chamber and the conical bore. A second flash suppression chamber is defined by the external surface of the conical element, the cylindrical interior surface portion of the body, and the rear portion of the body. Radial openings allow fluid communication of muzzle gases between the first and second flash chambers.
