  • Patent number: 11464500
Abstract: A device comprising a trocar having a first end and comprising a cannulation and at least one fenestration proximal the first end; and a housing comprising a first port configured for the attachment of a first syringe and a second port configured for the attachment of a collection vessel, a first valve configured to selectively permit fluid flow through the cannulation of the trocar to the first port, and a second valve configured to selectively permit fluid flow through the cannulation of the trocar to the second port. The device allows the first syringe to draw up bone marrow in small volumes with high vacuum and then transfer the small draws into the collection vessel. The device may increase the recovery of desired cells residing in the bone marrow to be recovered during a bone marrow aspiration procedure.

  • Patent number: 10086128
Abstract: The present invention provides devices and methods for concentrating a fluid and for treating a patient with the concentrated fluid. The concentrator apparatus includes a main housing (12) defining a separation chamber (14), a filter housing (48) containing a filter (46) comprising a filter element, a piping (44) for moving concentrated fluid from the separation chamber to the filter, and ports (32) for pressurizing the concentrated fluid past the filter element of the filter. The present invention also provides a variety of uses of concentrated body fluids, including autologous concentrated body fluid. The concentrated fluids can be used for example in surgical applications, including graft applications such as allograft, xenograft and autograft applications.

  • Patent number: 9011684
Abstract: A fluid concentrator includes a main housing and a cartridge removably engaged to the main housing. The main housing includes a first end portion having a first port and a second port, an oppositely disposed second end portion and a separation chamber that extends between the first and second end portions. The second end portion has an inlet port and defines a cartridge passage that extends through the second end portion. The separation chamber is in fluid communication with the inlet port. The cartridge includes a first axial end portion that is engaged with the first end portion and an oppositely disposed second axial end portion, a portion of the second axial end portion is disposed in the cartridge passage of the second end portion of the main housing. The cartridge is adapted to filter fluid from the separation chamber.
