Patent number: 4586615Abstract: A holder for an article can be used on a display device at the point of sale, and as part of a rack of similar holders by the user. The holder comprises a base plate, holding means for detachably holding the article, first mounting means, and second mounting means. The holding means is provided on one side of the base plate. The first mounting means is provided for mounting the holder on a display device, and the second mounting means is provided for fixing the holder to a wall with the other side of the base plate in contact with the wall. The base plate is generally rectangular in configuration, and the edges of at least one pair of its opposed edges are provided with complementarily-shaped projections, whereby the holder can be joined to a similar holder by engaging one of said projections with the complementarily-shaped projection of the other holder.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1984Date of Patent: May 6, 1986Assignee: Spiralux LimitedInventor: Clive E. Patent number: 4395147Abstract: A daisy wheel printer wherein a non-contacting sensor (24) is employed to detect the rotational position of the daisy wheel (10) by response to the interrupting action of the character stalks (12, 14) and to produce a train of pulses providing positional information in accordance with said interrupting action. In accordance with the invention, each stalk of the daisy wheel is divided by a longitudinal slit (26) into two or more branches (28, 20) thereby to increase the frequency of the interrupting action and, for a given rotation of the wheel, to cause the sensor to produce a train of pulses (32) containing a number of pulses which is an integral multiple of the number of stalks passing the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1981Date of Patent: July 26, 1983Assignee: Spiralux LimitedInventors: Gerald Avison, Philip T. Blenkinsop

Patent number: 4385847Abstract: A daisy wheel printer having a daisy wheel (10) with a central disc portion (12) and character stalks (14), wherein a masking disc (20) is attached coaxially to the daisy wheel, the mask being larger than the central disc portion of the wheel so that it obscures the daisy wheel stalks in a radial zone of the wheel inwardly of the character petals (16). The mask (20) is provided with a single slit (26) over the interstice between a unique pair of character stalks (14A, 14B), to thereby define a unique datum or home location on the daisy wheel. This datum slit is detected by means of a light source (28) and light-sensitive detector (30) which emits a pulse each time the datum slit passes through a light beam directed towards the detector at the radial zone of the daisy wheel whereat the datum slit is provided.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1981Date of Patent: May 31, 1983Assignee: Spiralux LimitedInventor: Gerald Avison

Patent number: 4147047Abstract: A tool for setting threaded bushes has a body portion and a mandrel puller rotatably and slidably mounted in the body portion. A mandrel is fixed to the mandrel puller for movement therewith. The free end portion of the mandrel is screw-threaded for engagement with a threaded bush. Means are provided for sliding the mandrel puller relative to the body portion so that the threaded bush strikes the body portion and is arrested thereby. Further movement of the mandrel puller causes the bush to expand and be set in position. The threaded bush is releasable from the mandrel by rotating the mandrel puller relative to the body portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1977Date of Patent: April 3, 1979Assignee: Spiralux LimitedInventor: James F. Fluester
