    Abstract: An abrasive and/or scouring pad, comprising a core of foam between two nonwovens, wherein the core is a polyurethane foam and the nonwovens are based on a mixture of polyamide and polyester fibers. The polyamide has physical properties similar to those of the polyurethane foam. The nonwovens and the foam are bonded together at their periphery by thermal-welding, either directly, or by two layers of heat-fusible or heat-softening material placed on either side of the foam.

The cleaning material may be bonded to a porous body, for example, by an intermediate layer to constitute a cleaning pad.
