  • Publication number: 20240375462
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve system (6, 62, 64, 66) for a tubeless wheel, the wheel comprising a rim (1) and a tire (2), which form a tire/rim volume (10) that can be filled with air, and a puncture protection insert (5, 52, 54, 55, 56) positioned inside the tire/rim volume (10), the valve system comprising a valve stem body (82, 84, 86), which extends along a valve axis (A) and has a first end and a second end, and a valve base (72, 73, 74, 75, 76) adjoining said second end, the second end being positioned in the tire/rim volume (10) when the valve system (6, 62, 64, 66) is mounted on the wheel. The purpose of this is to simplify the insertion of a tube-like cannula or hollow needle of a tool for filling or extracting sealing fluid through the valve system into the tire/rim volume.

  • Patent number: 11179979
Abstract: The invention is directed to a valve stem system (1) for tubeless wheels. The valve stem system (1) includes a valve stem body (2) with a first end (3) and a second end (4), wherein the second end (4) is located in a tire/rim-volume when mounted at the wheel. A first valve (5) is arranged at the second end (4) of the valve stem body (2). The first valve (5) is a self-sealing one-way valve. A second valve (10) is removably mountable at the first end (3) and is, when mounted, at least partially housed in the valve stem body (2). The second valve (10) comprises a valve stem core inserted in the valve stem body (2) and can be added or removed from the valve stem body (2) while pressure is maintained within the tire by the first valve (5). The invention further concerns a probe (30) for a valve stem system, a method to test the amount of sealant in a wheel and a refilling assembly (80) for a wheel.

  • Patent number: 11136006
Abstract: The invention is directed to a device for inflating a tire that includes a housing with at least one first connection port and at least one second connection port. The second connection port includes connecting means to interconnect the device with a pressure tank. The first connection port is fluidically connected to the second connection port by means of a fluid passage. Furthermore the device comprises a first valve. When a pressure tank is connected to the second connection port and when the first valve is in a closed state, the first valve is suited to prevent air from flowing from inside of the pressure tank out of the first connection port. When the first valve is in an open state, it is suited to allow passage of air from inside of the pressure tank through the fluid passage to the first connection port. The device further includes a second valve that is connectable to an inflator for pressurizing the tank.
